We bought a 2024 MME Premium AWD ER in late May.
This pictogram/cartoon is on the liftgate adjacent to the release button. To us it seems to say we have the kick to open feature and the opening limiter on the liftgate With instructions available as both a QR code and in the owners manual. I can only find the liftgate height setup instructions in the manual. The QR code looking thing is not a real QR code. So what does this sticker really mean and what/where is the actual QR code?

It is an illustration that informs that the liftgate has height opening adjustments available…See your Owners Manual for instructions.

It was meant to inform that you could use the ‘kicking’ motion, which btw, Ford removed that capability sometime in MY 2022. However, they did not see fit to remove the sticker that references the feature. Go figure.??‍♂

Okay so I got that part of the puzzle right. Thank you. So what’s the kick and the QR code got to do with anything then?

We all have the sticker.

I stood there kicking like a fool in front of my sales guy Kicking and Kicking. Nothing happened and he didn’t know why it wasn’t working.

I came from a 2014 Escape and knew exactly how to activate my kick to open lift gate.

It wasn’t until I joined this forum that I learned that they discontinued the feature.

Disappointed, yes.

Still love my MME, yes…

That’s a Data Matrix. Used to identify things. Like a Barcode, but can contain more info.

Dug the Pug doesn't look too thrilled about the lack of the kick to open feature. But Dug wants people to know where you got Dug's snazzy seat back covers ... ?

It’s a Cavasback cargo liner.

They make a great product. Not cheap but worth the price in my opinion.

Had a Cavasback cover in my Escape too. It was the first thing I did to my Mach.

Kick to open was dropped as a feature very early on. Only 2021s have it. Mine works about 30% of the time. I rarely attempt to use it for that reason.

Ford undoubtedly had 37 Quintillion liftgate stickers printed up before the pandemic struck and part shortages became a way of life. I fully expect to see these same stickers in gen 9 Mach-e’s.

Pro tip: set the max height to avoid striking your garage door or the door opener track. There is a years long thread on the after affects of such an occurrence.

It's a safety feature for Mach-E. If some ruffian kicks the rear of your Mach-E the tailgate will open in self-defense and hit the ruffian in the face. This tells you how to set how much force is used.
