No hate please, this just occurred today.

A good friend of mine was discussing the different types of gasoline some vehicles might require. after a quick google search, he said he was going to start putting premium for his daily driver as apparently it’s better for longevity… but then reading further, he saw a lot of competing anecdotes, stats and opinions both for and against this line of thinking. Eventually he settles on one answer that said “see what the manual says about your specific car/engine, as anything other than that can cause problems”. What does his vehicle manual recommend? 87 regular, but can also accept premium as well!

so he says he has to check his other car and see what gas is recommended in that manual. If it requires premium, then he will have to remember to only put premium in that car’s tank, and stock with regular for his daily driver.

here’s the kicker: he turns to me and asks “did you check the manual for your car?”

“Mine’s electric” I say.

he bursts out laughing, in a good way at the humor of the whole scene. Felt just like a commercial!

this was not the first time I had to remind him or anyone else my car didn’t need gas, but this was by far the funniest!

How many of us have had this kind of experience?
What electricity current do you charge it with regular or premium?

I only charge from our solar panels, my MME Premium can beat any GT PE out there in 0-60 because it is powered by the sun, which as we all know is significantly more premium than some coal generators in the city somewhere.

Oddly enough the manual doesn't mention solar as recommended fuel, but I think it's just because Ford wouldn't be able to mark up GTPEs. Wake up, sheeple.

Except for my GTPE since it’s also only charged by solar (premium sun power). ?

Back when I was doing more hunting and dog shows (like every weekend and a lot of Wednesdays) I built a 7.4:1 engine for the Blazer so that I could run any crappy kool-aid gasoline that I could find at any backwater gas station. It still made 328 RWHP with a really flat torque curve, so I was cool with that. I put over 200K miles on that build. I still have a large dislike for the SBC. ??

I put premium solar power into the MME. “Because it’s worth it!” ??

I only put premium electricity in my MME, it is more expensive, but worth it
Keeps the electron injectors clean and working well
I don't sense any hesitation or rough idle like before when I used regular electricity

No gasoline required, that is for certain. However, I believe from recent guidance acquired that there is a scheduled oil change at 100k miles. This is necessary for the lubrication of the electric motors. Probably won't be going to Jiffy Lube for that one. ?

So I have a hybrid that requires premium fuel. The hybrid can change the MME. So... premium electricity is real.
