Hi!
I’m hoping that an awesome volunteer can verify my manufacture date and see if Seabiscuit (poor Scotty was totaled after an accident) falls in the manufacture dates listed in CSP 24P16? This is the second weekend in a row that I’m getting the dreaded electrical system drain message while plugged in to my Grizzl-e charger at home….

VIN is 3FMTK2SU9PMA96393.

Thank you!

So here's the thing. You haven't gotten an OTA in at least 60 days and probably longer. Your car was produced at the end of September 22 and you bought it on 3 July of last year. It sat for a long time and didn't receive many OTAs that other cars got in the meantime, because dealers don't enable OTAs to download while they have the car.

I would bet that once that gateway update in this list below is applied using FDRS (along with whatever else the dealer tech is willing to update) that your car would once again get back on track. Bottom line, you need to be caught up. You're so far behind that the system isn't offering you anything. You can call the BEV team at 800-392-3673 or 866-631-3788 x79969 and get them to take a look and then ask them to contact your local dealer to hopefully arrange something. This could be covered under warranty labor code OTAWTY. But they would need to confirm that.

Thank very much1!!! The wife and I picked up the car in April of this year and only got one update and then nothing… not the connectivity menu won’t even populate

You may want to go out to the car and start it up and hit the Check Updates button.....

If you don't see that, you won't get any menu options. Double check your privacy settings to make sure you haven't turned off everything.

Mike,

What in the world is going on with my car? The vehicle was sold to the dealer in VA, bought in VA in May! And am I reading this correctly, there’s still updates outstanding?

Thank you,
Erin

Uuummmm. Are you referring to the OTAs that are in process? Or what exactly? Not sure I'm following...

I didn't post the list of available software from FDRS (that's below). But I thought you were interested in the build date and the fact that you had some OTAs that were trying to install.

Here's what's available to install using FDRS:

Mike,

I definitely was interested in the build date (which in November seems to be outside of the CSP dates of July-September).

There’s an update scheduled to install on Seabiscuit overnight; the vehicle won’t tell me what it is of course.
I fell down the rabbit hole in reading the screenshots and noticed the VIN message which confused me.

Thank you once again for all of your time and effort looking into this!

Here's the list of available software for your VIN in FDRS:

The OTA you mentioned from back in April was a GWM (gateway) update.

The drive mode switching, or becoming 'unavailable' is connected to the recent reports of 1PD unexpectedly quitting as well. It's caused by a set of powertrain updates that need to be applied...you have those in your list (PCM, ABS, BECM, SOBDMC). The other updates in your list are all enhancements (like for cruise control) or fixes for things like static on the radio, or issues with PAAK where your car doesn't immediately recognize your phone when you try to open one of the doors.
I'm periodically getting "drive mode unavailable". Can you see if I'm behind on any of the modules that cause that?

3FMTK4SE2PMA86891

I am not getting the 1 Pedal drive fault.

Well I've been getting uncommanded drive mode switching and 'drive mode unavailable' messages occasionally and my car is completely up-to-date. So unless the powertrain updates that I applied yesterday morning (just released) fixed it, it may still be a problem even if you did everything on this list:

Thank you but I don’t even have privacy settings I can find. Could you point me the direction to check that?

Well I guess you won't see them if your connectivity menu isn't showing up. ?‍♂
When you next take a drive and see that connected vehicle icon show up on the top row of Sync, pull over while it's still active and check your connectivity setting menu in Sync. It should look like this:

I know your TCU is working because your car is checking in with the cloud everytime you drive it.

But in the event that you'd like to reset your TCU you can locate the fuse panel in the passenger footwell and pull fuse 11/12 and leave that out for 5 minutes or so and then replace it, start the car and see if it starts communicating with the cloud (
Ford Mustang Mach-E Post here if you have an active FDRS account and are willing to look up info for others Connected_Vehicl
) and then when you see that, check your settings in Sync.

@Mike @rugedraw , are you able to tell if my vehicle even communicates back to the server cloud? I get the up and down arrows on the screen, ford pass works correctly as well. I’m also curious if it posted any more trouble codes. Are you also able to tell me what diagnoses codes it had over the last 4 weeks since I purchased it. Just want to have some ammo when I call the dealer service dept since they told me they would charge for updates. 3FMTK4SE2PMA44401
Thank you both.

Yes. Your car reports it's status everytime you drive it.
Here's a screengrab of today's VHA screen in PTS for your VIN:
Ford Mustang Mach-E Post here if you have an active FDRS account and are willing to look up info for others 3FMTK4SE2PMA44401-28-Jul-24VHA

Items in bold are the first time that DTC showed up on that drive. They will still show up on subsequent drives until they are cleared (just not in bold print).

I don't know what you've told the service advisor yet, but I would lean towards things like "My car's BlueCruise cuts off a lot unexpectedly" and I wouldn't focus on the OTA that hasn't arrived yet.

@Mike G thanks I will call them up tomorrow and mention the blue cruise. What is the difference in those DTC vs getting lights on the dash? That seems like a lot of issues when you read that. Do firmware and software updates clear these up usually?

Updates do often clear things like that up.

Then you can run into something like a low state of charge on your 12V battery that makes all sorts of lights and messages show up.....and it was just the battery.
