In FordPass and Connected Services, it shows you when your BlueCruise subscription expires.
Yes, but those things don’t exist until AFTER the purchase.

Things like this need to be disclosed before purchase.

Very odd. I was aware of the subscription price before I bought my car. I also wasn't interested in BlueCruise at all and wouldn't have paid the $600/3 years that Ford advertised prior to purchasing my car. This is definitely on your dealer. My selling dealer even mentioned the BC subscription when I picked up my car and then told me to "never mind" since my GT-PE isn't hardware-compatible. ?‍♂?
In 2021 I wouldn’t rely on the dealer to know squat.

My dealer delivered my car with 18% charge because they couldn’t figure out how to charge it and when I inquired about “Ford Options,” the sales manager, general manager and finance manager had zero clue what it was. Even after showing it to them on the Ford website they just said…. “I don’t think we can do that.” ?‍♂

And when I ordered in April 2021, I had to teach THEM how to confirm the order.

It has gotten better since then for sure. But it was the Wild West back then.

I don’t give Ford a pass for this…they did make it somewhat confusing in their branding of the system. Many of the subscription aspects were new to Ford Dealers, and they didn’t seem to want to know. They were still “learning” Options when I bought in Nov 22’. BlueCruise is hardware that makes it ready AND a connected subscription that gives the system the latest road info. The subscription is related to a mapping service Ford subscribes to, and continually integrates with the car. I see it as an advantage that they are paying support staff to continue to address how my car responds to road events as new situations are uncovered. However, what that is worth to the owner is the determining factor. I’m not in at $800 per year.

For sure it was confusing!

Don’t get me started on “co-Pilot 360” vs “co-Pilot 360 Active 2.0.” ??‍♂

If BC1.3 is all it's cracked up to be, I'll even be willing to stretch my budget from 1 cent/mile to 2c/mile for BC-engaged highway miles driven (or $200/yr, whichever is higher). That's still a 40%+ premium over my fuel cost per mile, can't agree to paying more.

And that is assuming I get to thoroughly test BC1.3 before Dec'24, which I don't have yet on my Job2 2021.

It’s “Co-Pilot 360/Assist 2.0” (which makes it all the more confusing). ?‍♂?

LOL I figured it this way: At the original $600/3 years subscription rate, I would have been paying >$800/use. ??

Then Ford “fixed” all that by making everything “BlueCruise,” which added its own layer of confusion because now we have to distinguish between “Hands On BC” and “Hands Free BC.”

It’s been a weird ride since fall of 2020 when I started learning all this. Got my FE in March 2021. Three years later, I’d say the software is getting close to acceptable.

They may have changed the name then. Look at the line item on the OP’s window sticker. It’s the same as on mine. We paid for “Active 2.0.”

2023+ I think the window stickers just showed a free 90 day trial.

Right. On 2021s the window sticker would either be like mine with “Ford Co-Pilot 360/Assist 2.0” (which was standard) or like anyyone else’s who has a car compatible with BC with “Ford Co-Pilot 360/Active 2.0” on it. I believe the Ford Co-Pilot 360/Active 2.0 cars also noted BlueCruise on the window sticker but did not note much else with regard to BC. ?‍♂?

The irony was that “360 assist” didn’t come with a 360 camera?

I definitely won’t be subscribing for $800/yr. Honestly, after that dirty of a move, I don’t think I’ll buy a Ford ever again.
They listed that the hardware is included in the tech/comfort package but didn’t mention that you aren’t buying the BC software. In late 2021 Ford raised the MSRP by $600 and listed the BC subscription in the window sticker section near the nav 3-yr disclosure.

Your window sticker isn’t clear, for example, when buying a car you shouldn’t need to ask if it comes with brakes. They do list the tires.

I got a job 2 2021. I paid the extra $600.

Nowhere is that a line item on the sticker and it definitely doesn’t say anything about “subscription” on my window sticker.

See post #30 for a link to my window sticker.

When I purchased my 23 Mach E I asked the salesman and the Finance manager about the BC subscription and they had no idea and referred me to the Accessories dept they did not know anything about it either. I was shocked and did not pursue it with the dealer after that because they were clueless. It is not like the Mach E is the only vehicle that has BC on it.
