My order 79k in March 2024 went from delivery September 2024 to January 2025. Not surprised given the progress I have been seeing, but still disappointed. Ford really mishandled this one.

Sounds like a bulk update.
Definitely a bulk update. I'm in the 21K series and my ship date is also January 2025. It doesn't appear as a though Ford put a whole lot of "science" into this new ship date ("one size fits all"). Bottom line: the January 2025 date means just about nothing in reference to reality.

Order 69K. Also went from Sept 2024 to Jan 2025. Thankfully, I don't take my Mach-E on long trips so I can easily make do without the adapter. Still would be nice to have it though.

The free adapter is cool, definitely. Given the shakeup of the Tesla charge team, I agree with 2026 as a potential date.

That said, if you are planning a road trip with more than one stop, I would factor a third party adapter into your travel budget. It opens up so many options which will also make your travel much more stress free.

This is ridiculous! I was just mad that yesterday I saw the date moved from September to October and today it moved all the way to January. I ordered this in March'24 and it's taking almost a year to get it. Why?

1. Elmo promised to deliver adapters
2. Elmo fired his entire charging team
3. Tesla didn’t reach production rates of 8,000 per month until September
4. Tesla just opened Superchargers to GM and started shipping GM adapters too.

Remember that it is Tesla supplying these adapters. I’m guessing that Ford is as frustrated with Tesla over their inability to deliver as we are. And now we have a dockworkers strike to slow things even more.

I wonder if there was any thing to do with the negotiations done in the beginning, to get access to Superchargers, where Ford requested a lower price per adapter and Rivian and GM are paying a higher value and thus they get priority in the delivery.
You make it sound like you know how much each OEM is paying for adapters. Care to share?

I thought it took a long time to receive my 2022 car but looking like the adapter will take longer

Weren't we complaining that Ford was just wholesale moving every recipient's estimate one month forward at a time, and wished they would at least attempt to forecast with some semblance of mathematical estimation?

Moving someone from September to January is at least evidence of someone trying to make the date have meaning. :)

Ford is in a tough position on this.
