I have had the Juice Box since I bought my MME over a year ago. Never quite mastered it but it was functional. Now that its maker is abandoning it what should I do? Should I just leave it in place or should I get another charging station? If so, which charging station? When I lost internet last week due to a storm I had to use the Ford supplied charging cable plugged in to the socket used by the Juice Box. It was awkward but functional. I didn't measure it but it seemed somewhat slower. I remember it being more difficult to schedule use as well.
Oh! great community of experts help me!

I've had a JB40 for nearly two years now. I only had one issue and online tech support sorted very quickly. BUT I never got the app to work properly. Use it as a dumb EVSE (charger) and use sync 4 or fordpass to set up your charging schedule. As a dumb EVSE you don't need any of the juicebox web services, wifi access etc.

There is no reason you had to use your Ford Mobile Charger if the internet was down. Your Juicebox will be a dumb charger just like the Ford Mobile Charger come October 11th.

I have an older JB 40 (the rectangular black aluminum enclosure). Works just fine as a dumb charger. There's a community project underway to make it a full featured smart charger again, at least for those of us with HomeAssistant. https://github.com/JuiceRescue/juicepassproxy

I have an older rectenguler juice box 40 that I bought in September 2019 to charge our two Ford fusion plug-in hybrids. Two years ago I got my mach e. It's been five years now that I never used it's application. I don't need it. It's working just fine as a dumb charger.

Did your JuiceBox stop working without internet?

Mine has never done that.

Thanks for the link.

I have one of these as well, and am a programmer/tinkerer. I will be watching this process, and helping if I can find the time.

My JuiceBox 40 has worked just fine as effectively a dumb charger since I bought it 2.5 years ago. The only thing I use the app for is to change the amperage. I am using a lower charge rate (16 amps) to lengthen charging time for the 12v battery and reduce the strain on my electrical system.

My primary question when the app no longer functions (apparently on October 11): Will the Juicebox continue to charge at the rate I have currently set (16 amps), or will it default to some other number, like the full 40 amps?

If it still works, why not continue to use it? If it is borked, replace it. ?‍♂?

I bought my JuiceBox because it was one of the units my electric utility accepted for their charging program. By letting them reduce my charging speed during peak hours they give me a $40 per year credit. I'm guessing that will change once they realize they can't talk to it anymore. Otherwise I never use any of the smart features of the unit. Happy to continue to use it as a dumb charger.

Yeah I'm curious about this too.

Seems to me they picked the JuiceBox, so they should continue your credit. Or buy you a new unit.

Our first juicebox 40 died a few months ago and got a replacement under warranty. When it dies down the line I'll review other options at State of Charge's site that does independent reviews of chargers.
