2-pedal unbridled with sound. IF I could turn the sound up, I would.

The sound only kicks in under heavy acceleration. It doesn't DO anything, but it sounds nice. I have noticed it is louder if you have the 'compensate for speed' switched on for the stereo. It has zero impact on actual driving, it's only inside the cabin, and it's not that realistic. But I still love it and wish it was significantly louder, or had a volume control. IT doesn't.

Unbridled has stock-car steering and very aggressive regen. If you once loved a stick shift this is as close as you'll get. I sometimes put a tall water bottle in the left cup holder and pretend.

I adore this car. ADORE. That said, the Ioniq5 N has the fake shifting and sound I desire...and that will be my next. Don't care if it's fake, I need gears and sound. 2 Miatas and 1 WRX trained me well.

Guess I'm the odd one who uses Whisper. Mach-E is my first BEV, but I've driven 3 PHEVs before, and a hybrid before the PHEVs. I like the slow roll when I take my foot off the pedal that my PHEV and hybrid gave me. The strong breaking that Engage and Unbridled give mean I end up taking my foot off the accelerator to coast but then have to use it again because it stops quicker than I'm used to.
I turned off the noise because I thought it was silly, and I usually drive with music or podcasts so I don't need the distraction.
I use Whisper daily too. But it's more because of the magneride adjustment than anything else. I just want a little softer suspension for daily driving (obviously the non GT PE people don't have this, so there's less... "incentive" to use Whisper, I'd assume).

I only switch to Unbridle for autocross or anytime I know I'm going to hit up a curvy road and want to drive like an asshole.

LOL I guess that I just like firmer cars and less steering assist. Unbridled is too mushy for me and the steering is over-assisted (not to mention not very precise). The throttle mapping seems to be a gimmick to me since WOT is WOT. Anything between zero and WOT on the pedal is modulated by my fuzzy butt and the speedo. ??

I think he is being misunderstood. My guess is he is saying regen when you let off. Not brake pedal vs 1P braking.
For me that’s me being only an engaged if I’m doing 65 and I let off the gas come to a stop using regen, I get 100% of course I guess I was asking when you do unbridled and you let off the gas to come to a stop without the break is it quicker you’re getting the same reach in I guess but is it quicker stopping?

I know this will be sacrilegious but I use engage as it closely matches the feel of my ICE rig which, unfortunately, I must drive from time to time. I would probably be fine using other modes but this way my driving habits around town remain consistent which is where I do most of my driving. I did find that the aggressive regen in unbridle was not to my liking.

what sound does propulsion make? I hear the “engine” sound but nothing aggressive.
The “engine” noise you hear is the sound the propulsion makes. If you turn it off you should notice that “engine” sound is gone.

Personally I kinda like the propulsion sound and usually drive in Engage with the occasional switch to Unbridle on a back and windy road. I also have been know to switch to Unbridle when an ICE car pulls up next to me at a red light and goads me into “spirited acceleration” at green?

For me Engage is a good drive mode.
Whisper, will not do regen as soon as you take your foot off the pedal. So the car will still coast in the same speed for while, but I ended up doing jerkey brakes.

Engage, will behave as a regualr ICE vehicle(regen/slows down a bit as soon as you take off your foot from the pedal) which is helpful for smooth breaking.

Unbridled, I like this mode but I think we have to select this everytime we get into car(car does not default to this mode once you poweroff)

I use mostly Engage and when I’m in a rush, Unbridle. Mostly 2pedal but sometimes 1P. 1P has better braking when you are in Engage.
Sound.. I find it good! I like it.

Newbie 2024 MME Premium owner. I am mostly using Engaged. Tried Unbridled for a bit today. Real world what are most of you using? Does Propulsion Sound do much of anything? I am not sure I hear anything significant inside or outside.
I have written to Ford to get a more thorough answer on what each mode does.

I would really like to know what signals are sent to the brakes, accelerator, and what is changed physically to the car if any.

I never received a technical answer, so I guess we must live with what the manual states.

Just to add another voice to the conversation...I always use OPD and love it (but have to remember to turn it and brake hold off when going through a car wash). I do not use propulsion sound. I primarily use Engage as my daily driver because it is easier on my wife who rides with me frequently. But when I'm feeling frisky, Unbridle it is! I take regular longer trips and when I'm on the Interstate I may switch to Whisper; it seems to give me slightly better range (but that is a totally fact free assessment). But like many others have said, these are all personal preferences...try them all out and find what you prefer.

I’m 2-pedal Engage almost all the time. I’ll use Whisper when there’s snow or ice on the road. Occasionally I’ll use Unbridle and turn on the propulsion sound if I’m feeling what I’ll call “grunty.” (Think/look up the TV show Home Improvement.)

I’ve mentioned this once before here, but whenever this topic comes up I think of the young woman who sold me my car pronouncing “Unbridle” as “un-brittle.” My wife and I just call it that now.
