Hi good folks, haven't asked for a check before, but I was planning on doing some car work this weekend and open up Forscan and am wondering if it is worth springing for a 2-day FDRS license this time:

Anything notable available for me?

I would appreciate a look at the updates available for my 2022 Premium ER AWD.

Also will Sync be updated from 23291 rv1049 when the pending updates get to me ?

Thank you.

3FMTK3R79PMA59995

I drive everyday for least 45 mins cumulative. And is always charged to 80%.
"Cancelled by Ford" (it was a GWM update).

Good morning. Would appreciate a check on my 2021 J1. Latest OTAs are 6.14.0 at the end of March and 24-PU0301-BLM-PE in August.

The car is going in early next week for the HVBJB recall (23S56/23V687) and two CSPs (23B50, 22P31). 22P31 doesn't show on the Ford Recalls and CSPs dashboard for my VIN, but service rep states that it is showing at his end (I guess in PTS).

Would like to know what's available and if any of the service actions are likely to result in newer module versions (SOBDM, etc.) or if I need to mention that my iPhone still gets very warm but doesn't charge properly, none of the doors reliably wake as I walk up or open when I push the outside buttons first time - despite the entry system update, etc.

VIN 3FMTK3SU1MMA02587

Thanks in advance.

You'll get the powertrain updated with those FSAs your car is going in for. You might be able to get them to update eveything else at that time since Ford has recommended that the techs do that when a car is in for other service. Never hurts to ask.

As for specs, this might be a good place to start.
Hi again Mike

On Friday I did the update. Before that I got a version 4.2.1.2 via OTA. (Nothing special I noticed)

The tech guy ran into errors with 1 module ( APIM ), it always froze. So the update failed on that one.

The SYNC version remained the same - 23095 ver 807

(The update version is still 4.2.1.2)

How do I proceed? :)

Every APIM update that I've applied across 3 Fords has been USB memory stick delivered.
I have experienced occasional difficulty during the file download portion (FDRS), and have experienced the occasional "is it ever going to finish" event during the USB-vehicle portion of the procedure.

But never anything I would describe as "it froze"
What froze? The Sync screen? If so, during or after the USB files were copied to the vehicle?

I don't know exactly how it happened. :(
I left the car there and talked to the owner. He mentioned the word "frozen" to me. Or maybe "nothing is happening".

Is it possible that it didn't freeze, but that they simply had to wait?
I still have to talk to the person who is looking for it, I will ask him what exactly was the problem?

"Waiting", would make way more sense. That can be so hard in this modern era.

Ask them for the USB stick. It promises no harm to anything to plug it in and drive for days. ?

There actually was an update for 2021 F150s that often required the driver to leave the APIM USB stick plugged in for as long as a month! And at some point it would successful install and all was well.

Fellas with 2021 F150s have done and succeeded with that update even recently!

It shows they opened the APIM guided routine, went on to the turn ignition on button and they pressed ok, and nothing happened after that. 4 hours later, they went on to another module update and never tried to update the APIM again. It does not seem like it made it far enough to point where it started downloading anything.

Well there's certainly a problem with how the (APIM) process progressed. Because it's obvious from the extremely limited dialog history that something went very wrong.

Normally there's dialog about ensuring the powersupply is being used, and there's dialog about selecting the USB drive, and the biggest thing is that it all takes more than the 2 seconds shown for the whole event in the session log.

So I'm not sure the APIM update didn't actually get cancelled before it even got started. At least that's what I'm getting from the log.
