Yea I don’t see why I would take time out to troll on this forum, especially to talk individuals like yourself. It seems as though I might have a manufacturer defect since a lot of these replies on this forum find this unbelievable. Thanks for the confirmation.
The defect is holding the steering wheel

Hi! So, i have owned my 2023 Mustang Mach E for almost 2 years now. I absolutely LOVE IT but I recently got into an issue this week.
On a Monday evening, in an empty parking lot, where all my car had to do was move forward to park itself, and behind me was two poles with a chain and a crossed section on the floor that marks pretty much no parking, my friends asked if my car parked itself. I said, "I think so, here's a button for it, I've never pressed it, should I try it?"
"YES!!" So, I just pressed the button once (not holding it down) and my car started moving fairly swiftly backwards by the two poles and crashed into them and the chained fence and made a huge crash sound and I slammed on my brake so fast. I was so confused since my car has all of the sensors in the world and I got scratches and dents on my bumper and passenger door from the chains. My car didn't make any warning, or stop or sound that it was backing into something. I've done more research and found that the 2023 does not have park assist, but definitely that button on my car states otherwise because it didn't give me any option to move anywhere. It just started moving. I called the Ford Customer Relations number and they advised to take it to the Ford Dealership and they will have to run a diagnositc. They have ran it for about 2 - 3 days now and extended my loaner. I took it in on Wednesday. My issue is, is that when they called me Friday, they said my car is good to go, they didn't find anything wrong. I asked what do I do from here because these dents and scratches was due to my car moving swiftly by itself and seeming the cars sensors does not work with this feature and the service advisor told me my car does not have park assist and i said then what is that button in the middle i pressed marked "P" and made my car move then? He went to check and finally found the button I mentioned after much advisement on where to find it and my car is still in the dealership running more tests. Can anyone please help me as to what I should state to them? I feel like its really unfair for me having to pay to get my scratches and dent fixed when my car has a button advised to park assist and completely moved automatically and scraped and scratched my car.
I also have a 23 (23.0, you didn't mention if you have a 23.1 (second half of the year).

You didnt state what position the drive system was in (park, reverse, neutral), if break lock was engaged at the time (you said it was enabled and that is the setting, as i use, was the green indicator on the dash lit eg engaged?), and was your foot on the brake, accelerator, or touching nothing.

I am happy to run the same experiment without anything behind me.

Its hilarious you are having the dealer run diagnostics. They do this to me too, and pretend to do something with the car. I am pretty sure there are not multiday diagnostics for this kind of situation.

Have fun proving it. I don't believe you. That's not meant as an insult. You may even think that's what happened.

There are so many stories of unintended acceleration/movement, and almost every time it ends up being some kind of driver error despite said driver blaming the vehicle.
I don't know about this story, but as an ex insurance adjuster I would say about half of the claims I reviewed had some "adjustments " by the insured/claimant.

Hi ! I’m unsure if I have 23.0 or 23.1 but I did take delivery Dec ‘22 for my ‘23 Mach E.
As for the process, I had that stop hold function on, so my car was securely stationed and my foot was not on any pedals, since I know I don’t need to since it’s on the brake hold. I pressed the Park Assist button and then it maneuvered and reversed with the camera feature on my screen. I did not press any other button on screen or in my car or moved any steering whatsoever. It also didn’t make any sound of anything close by as it usually does when I park. So the replies on the post, stating that I shouldn’t even have Park Assist makes it concerning, since it didn’t even function as how described. I’m curious to see how yours reacts when you press the button in a secure area.

See the thing with software bugs is they don't cause unique failures. You don't have the only MME in the world with a software bug that causes the car to activate a mode it doesn't have the hardware to support.

@Isabellags07, your 2023 doesn't have Park Assist. It was eliminated during the 2022 model year. Widely discussed on this forum.

The button still exists, it will bring up public parking locations I believe.

If you had Park Assist, the proper way to use it would be to read your manual, not ask your friend whether you should push the button or not. It is a multi-step process, during which the driver keeps their foot on and above the brake pedal.
Exactly right (except in some countries, all MME models ship with Park Assist). In any case, the OP might consider google-ing this, there are a bizillion videos on exactly how this is meant to work, eg:

Thank you. I did look up videos after this experience and this multi step process with the screen pop up did not occur. It just began to move into a section between two poles and a chain.

1. Park Assist only works when there are cars to park between.
2. It backs into spots. It never pulls forward into spots.
3. Park assist was discontinued after the 2021 model year.

Trolling or you had the car in reverse and stepped on the gas. Either way, try harder.
now i know OP knows what they’re talking about, how’s he supposed to “step on the gas” in an electric car??? /s ?

Look at the 10th digit of your VIN. If it is an N, it is a 2022. If it is a P, it is a 2023.

I’m not sure why you and Wisconsin feel the need to harass me on something I simply asked for help with. I hope that you find something in life more fulfilling than harassing individuals on a Ford car forum during your weekend. Best.
