THis is the one thing I worry about if my car ever bricks in the garage. When I had just an rwd mach e, it would be no issue. But my garage is up a long hill with a sharp turn at the top. I've thought if my awd bricked getting it out would be a nightmare. So I was thinking something like this would be good to have on hand, a set of four. It lists 1300 pound capacity, but since it's spread over four wheels the total weight of the car won't be an issue.

Is this crazy idea?

Not a crazy idea, but possibly a dangerous one given an incline. I can just see the car rolling down the driveway into the street, then across into the house across the street. ??

ah, no I wouldn't do that my thought, is just spin the car around IN the garage, then enable the tow truck to hook up to the towpoints in front, you could even leave the dollies on the rear wheels while it's winched up on the flat bed. I've heard horror stories where people have said they just drag the car up onto the flatbed.

Or just ensure tow truck brings dollies if by some chance your vehicle bricks in the garage.
the thing is, for whatever reason the mach e only has towing points in the front, so to avoid dragging the car, you'll have to spin it around in the garage. Would tow truck dollies allow that to be done? I've actually never seen tow truck dollies in use.

I think I have read where others have had to do this. Of course the trick is to get a operator that brings the right equipment!

It makes a little sense to buy those unless you’re actually in a predicament. Let the tow truck driver do the job. He can bring his own if necessary.

99% chance you won’t ever need them.

do the flatbeds have dollies? I've read posts here of people with bricked mach es where they literally dragged the bricked mach e up the ramp, ie no dollies. Which can't be good for the drive train. Just to be clear this is not something I'm stressing about.

If the truck doesn’t have the right equipment, reject it and ask for the correct equipment. Ford recovery should have the right equipment for the car.

Just so we are clear, there is no "Ford Recovery". Ford Roadside Assistance is provided by a 3rd party, Agero, who dispatches independent towing companies that may, or may not, have experience towing an EV.

Is there reason you can’t back into the garage? That would be cheaper

it'd be a pain in the ass, I have on occasion but it's at an odd angle to an embankment and I'm lazy

this has been the big issue on "mach e being towed" threads, it's hit or miss if the people have any idea how to winch, tow or tie down the car, I've read at least two people that had the battery undertray destroyed because the tow company tied down using the alum tray.

I always recommend people keep the ford pic of tow and jack points on their phone, and ford also has a document to explain tie down etc.
