Any chance to check mine. I'm stuck way behind on updates from what I can tell, and the Ford OTA people, while kind of helpful, basically told me to bring it to the stealership and I am out of warantee :-(

P.S. if anyone in Massachusetts area is capable / willing with Forscan , I'd love to chat with you.

Thank you

Cheers mate! I haven't had any updates in months and will be bringing in my car for service soon. I am wondering if I am behind, and whether the dealership could apply any updates. 3FMTK3R7XMMA50444 Thank you in advance!

The dealership can apply all of these, but it may not be free.

Are you thinking about trying to update these modules using FORSCAN?

Thank you! What does this mean? Do I need to take it in to service?
Well since this car is new to you, I would definitely bring this issue to your salesman and the service advisor's attention as a 'pre-existing condition'.

Pretty please check mine WF0TK3R7XPMA30246 . I got it brand new and was thinking that I'm getting a 2024 model, but now I see that its mid 2023 (dealer never mentioned that). Not getting any OTA, but thinking if it was sitting somewhere in the warehouse for 1.5 years, maybe its stuck with the older version. Cheers.

12 May 2023 build date makes this a "Job 1" car.

Your 12V battery indicates that it is at 68% SOC. Don't be surprised if it needs to be replaced after sitting so long in a car that's been in 'storage' for over a year.

Thank you Mike. Should I bother the dealer to update it (especially when they said that it has all the latest updates) or it's not worth it? There is probably zero chance that I will get any updates OTA?

That's up to you.

Your support region falls under the "Ford EU" area, and they have their own OTA support servers and they also have their own priorities when it comes to pushing out OTAs, and normally the EU is way behind what happens here in North America.

As for why your dealership told you the car was "up-to-date", they likely took one look at the "OTA Dashboard" in PTS...didn't see anything and decided..."Must be up to date!".

Service advisors normally don't look any further than that in PTS. Of course, if they did bother to look under the "Diagnostics > Software" tab they'd see the same list I provided from FDRS, just in a different format. So they either are unfamiliar with how to tell if a vehicle us "up-to-date" or they are familiar...and just lied to you in the belief that you wouldn't know the difference anyway, and had no way of finding out the truth.

Some updates have a larger impact on whether the car will receive future updates. Things like the GWM (gateway module), APIM (Sync), TCU (the car's telematics modem), and the IPC are items that if they are available should always be updated. The next priority would be the powertrain modules (PCM, ABS, BECM, SOBDM, SOBDMC, and SOBDMB if you have AWD). The OBCC module is responsible for DC fast charging and if that's on your list it's important to update that one because those updates provide adjustments to allow your car to fast charge at various locations.

I would certainly request that at a minimum on a "new" car that's a year and a half old already that they update the GWM, APIM, IPC and the powertrain modules in the list.
