I don't think it's being de-contented on MME or made optional on MME. Just other vehicles with a more traditional securicode.
More traditional? In what way is our SecuriCode "less traditional" than other Ford SecuriCodes?

I thought they were all pretty much the same. But my previous Ford was a 1971 LTD so my knowledge on this is less than encyclopedic. ;)

They don't have a lock button and they aren't flush with the pillar. They are always visible, unlike on MME, where they are only visible when in use.

Door pillar code entry and start code is two of the things I really like about my MME. I do use them enough to remember them. DON'T TAKE THEM AWAY ON THE NEW MODELS.
Start code? That's part of of PAAK.

First thing I did before driving the car (23 gt) off the lot was to set my own code for the door key pad so that I would never forget it. Less than a one-minute exercise.
Yeah, set mine to my zipcode. Easy to remember

The ability to enter the backup start password on the touchscreen…nothing to do with PAAK.
Entry? No, not at all. That would sort of defeat the purpose of having a backup start code.

Setting up the backup start code is another matter.

Another important safety tip - remove the plastic card with the factory code from the glove box and store it at home. The factory code is permanent and does you no good when it’s locked in the car, not that any of this helps the OP at the moment.
Along the lines of what Rick said, a lot of people may not even be aware the key card exists. I know in the early days many posts by people who asked "what card?" I carry it in my wallet, and back with my 21 (one of the one fob only cars) I set up PAAK and put the master code on the key card as well. WIth my 23 I never bothered with PAAK.

Interesting about the keypad going away.

I use the keypad often to unlock the car before the car recognizes PaaK. PaaK is quite slow to detect many times. I'm okay with them removing the keypad on future models, so long as they fix PaaK to be really fast, like the newer Hyundai/Kia E-GMP cars do.

Or you could be one of the unlucky people like me, who did not get said card in my glove box. I only found out the master code when I programed a 3rd key fob and it displayed it on the screen briefly.

The code is printed on the label on the body control module.
