Puma is B-Segment (based on the Fiesta platform) thus can't be an "Escape replacement". The Escape is C-Segment sized (based on the Ford Focus platform, Bronco Sport shares this platform as well).
My bad. I had mistakenly thought the Puma was being introduced as an Escape replacement in Australia.

Is this on the MEB platform or was it internally developed? It looks fantastic and I’d love to see it in the USA but its battery pack of 40+ kWh needs a 50% bump in capacity to make it viable in America.
First European Ford EV on a Ford platform I believe.

The battery pack size is not really viable in Europe either at this point. This vehicle really needed to be out 3 / 4 years ago when it would have been fine, now with all the Chinese competition in Europe its going to be a hard sell to price conscious consumers that it wants to appeal to.

Hope to be wrong but after ditching pretty much most vehicles and jumping head first into evs only based on the efforts so far I won't be surprised to see Ford of Europe end becoming a the firm that just sells transits :(

tbh, the Puma reminds me of the Ora Cat. That was a sales failure in the UK and Ora left the market.

The Ora UK website is still there advertising the car with retailer addresses and test drives etc. Having said that it's too small for me 6ft 2 inch and the boot (trunk) is way too small. The Puma might be too small as well internally.

He can hardly fit in the thing.

Another review from Thomas. :)

He's same size as me and only just fits. Mmm... head room when going over traffic calming measures?

I’ll be the contrarian, and I’ll try to be nice about it …
I’m sure it looks better in person.

43 kWh battery. Running the same infotainment and cluster software we have. “System off to save battery” popped up, so Ford still hasn’t evolved their 12V management. Trunk drain for ice.

You could say it’s a Mini Mach-E in a lot of ways.

Jim, is that akin to "she has a great personality" scenarios?

Well, my experience had been, with looks like that, it would take a heck of a personality (or many drinks).

To be honest, it’s for the European market, so it doesn’t need a lot of range.

Someone left a Mach-E in the tumble drier and it shrank.
However, it may be something I'll look at next as the taxes on new MME are going up in 04/25.
Cars over ÂŁ40K, which will now including EV's, are ÂŁ500 per year more than those below ÂŁ40K.

The Fusion was a best seller and Ford killed it. The Ranger was a best seller and Ford killed it only to bring it back as a midsize truck. They can’t build enough Mavericks and thought no one wanted a small truck. The Escape sells well and they are killing it. Who is minding the store?
Ranger pick up was killed rather than redesigning it to pass the new safety standards. For a long time light trucks didn’t have airbags, collapsing steering columns, or rollover standards.

That's not accurate at all, the only SUV leaving production is the Edge simply because there really isn't any way for them to upgrade it or change it. The Escape is the only crossover Ford has and it is slowly being changed into more of a hybrid. Don't believe everything, unless it comes from ford directly their is an article online about how they are ending production on the lightning when they aren't.
