It is the law in China that all chinese companies must support state espionage. This is the same reason there have been moves to ban tiktok in the US.For this to make sense in my mind, there needs to be a direct link between Volvo and the CCP.
Is there one? I know Huawei is beholden to the CCP...but is Geely?
The US govt has taken a stance on Huawei...if Volvo was using Huawei components that it deemed a concern, it seems logical in my mind that they wouldn't have any concern pointing this out. Have they?
And what came of Volvo buying out Geely's investment in the company? Seems that should bode well for concerns. https://www.caixinglobal.com/2021-0...-lifting-foreign-ownership-cap-101743869.html
