Hi,

I have a 2022 Mach E Select. I had an update which did not complete on July 17 and the option to update it has been greyed out. No further update received since then. Was hoping if anyone can please find out what the problem was regarding that update and if I need to do anything at the dealership or Ford will just push another OTA over to me at a later date. Any check on the FDRS would be appreciated. Thanks so much.

My VIN is 3FMTK1RM8NMA48283

Thanks.

Hello guys,

Mach-E owner from Sweden here. Is it possible for any of you to do a firmware check-up on my vehicle that just went through a service session the other week? They told me some things were adjusted but provided me with no further information.

Some days later a wild OTA update (ECG-24.2.5.6.3) also appeared from nowhere. From what I understand this is some kind of GWM-update (perhaps also EU-adjusted with extra add-ons), but information online is sparse.

Would be very much appreciated if I were to learn some more about these recent updates. VIN in PM, then updates can bu published in this thread if they can share any knowledge to the rest of the community.

Thanks in advance.

Regards
R
That would require a VIN number to do that.

Hello,

Just purchased a 2023 AWD and am based in New Zealand. I am wondering if there are any updates pending on the car. Much appreciated!

VIN : 3FMTR3SU1PMA50980
Oh there's a few. Your build date was 13 June 23.

Here's the list...and be sure to check the note at the bottom.....all of those updates are only revealed when other required updates are performed first (dependencies).

Ford does advise that before doing anything else, the GWM, APIM, TCU and IPC should always be done before any other updates.

So following the guidance at the bottom of this list, the tech would dig out his USB thumb drive and start with the IPC, then the GWM, etc., until all of those at the bottom are caught up, before doing anything else.

Could I provide it to you through PM or is it safe to share it here publicly on the forum?
Most people (as you can see) just post it. You can DM me if you feel it's necessary.

Says that OTA GWM update (ECG-24.2.5.6.1) was "cancelled by the cloud" on the 27th of September.

You do have that GWM update available in FDRS, and if it was applied that way it would then beget an APIM update which would in turn beget a TCU update. Like magic.

Dealer will likely not want to do these updates without some financial incentive, since there's no DTCs that would require these updates to be applied to remediate a concern or fault. You are coming up on your 20K though...and Ford does encourage dealers to knock out things like this while the car is in the shop for routine maintenance. So maybe then?

Thanks so much @Mike G. Really appreciate it. So, if it's "canceled by the cloud", does that mean that I won't get it via OTA and the only option would be to have it done by the dealership.

I'll check with them if they can do it during the 20k service. Thanks for your help.

Not necessarily. It could (should) be reissued as an OTA later. If you want to try the “I got a failed OTA, can you see if there’s anything wrong with my car” the next time you go to the dealership, that might work.

Well, you could have just asked. ? Yes, 5553 is correct. If that doesn't fix, lmk and we'll troubleshoot further.

In FORScan:

TCU (as built)

754-10-01

5553 --

Write and reboot the TCU from the wrench icon.
It worked! Thank you so much.

Any idea how this would happen? Why could the dealership not figure this out?

In a follow up on a previous post, the dealership updated a couple of pending updates (IPMA and APIM). The only thing I can see from the car is the Sync version updated to 23095 revision 807 (from 22028_411). Now, in my naivety I expected to at least see the "new" UI. But no. There are no further pending updates according to the tech. We must be missing something somewhere right? I do now have an automatic front parking cam, which I didn't have before, so that's nice....

Glad to hear!

Not sure how it happened, but we believe a TCU update about a year ago messed up the config in the country code for many vehicles. In February of this year, Ford released an OTA (23-PU113-UNX-DC) that was the first update ever sent out by them that specifically said wifi was required for it. The gurus in the F150 forums discovered this update was to change the config int he TCU back to the US to address this issue. The dealer does not know about this problem as it was never addressed by Ford at the dealership level in terms of a TSB (at least not that I know of). There is a procedure in FDRS that dealers can use to provision a TCU for a specific country, but they would not assume that is the issue since your car was built as a US spec vehicle.

In a follow up on a previous post, the dealership updated a couple of pending updates (IPMA and APIM). The only thing I can see from the car is the Sync version updated to 23095 revision 807 (from 22028_411). Now, in my naivety I expected to at least see the "new" UI. But no. You are showing a GWM update pending that if they would have done that, it would have released more update allowing them to update you further along the process. It is possible that it was not showing at the time they had it and it became available after the fact. They did update everything else, so I am inclined to believe that is what happened.

Your last OTA was successful. It was the ECG-24.2.5.6.3 for the GWM (gateway module) on the 4th of December.

The last time a technician updated your car was on the 25th of November. This is the session log from that day:
