Just watched most of this youtube video, and they are VERY negative on the Mach E. I am a very new owner of a 2024 Premium Mach E, and I REALLY like it. I wonder if I had watched this video if I would have bought one. What do other Mach E owners think about the views in this video. Do they have it all wrong?

The savagegeese guys are really interesting automotive reviewers but have also become very cynical about modern cars. In several videos over the last couple of years, they talk about how jaded they are now about cars in general and there's very few new cars that interest them (the Lucid Air Sapphire being one). Keep all this in mind when watching their content.

Look, this is just another hit piece on EVs. The contactors were a real engineering flaw, like many 1st gen cars have. Any car, ICE or BEV.
Saying there is no value in buying this over an ICE, you can stop right there. This is an ev hater video.

With all that said, Ford is pretty lost when it comes to a clear strategy for EVs. They started very strong, then Farley lost the fight with the dealers and with the board. The mach-e is a great and stable car at this point, although Ford's ev future is uncertain.

Read some of this thread, it may help with real comparisons. Ignore this video.

Enjoy your mach-e, it's a great car. I smile at it everyday.

Personally, I hear more realism in this video than actual negativity.

These people are idiots. I’m sick of listening to their bullshit. The only indicator of anything’s success are people putting their money where their mouths are. Is it selling? Yes. Then these geese can shut the fuck up.

You are on an enthusiast forum for the car.

This is the group of people who overwhelmingly like it. With a couple bitter owners/ex owners who stick around for some reason.
unfortunately far more than a "couple" I've got to say of the enthusiast forums I've been on over the decades, overall the mach e community seems to be one of the most negative of all the marques I've encountered.

I don't disagree with much of their presentation, other than some of their "opinions" are a little short-sighted, IMO (lol... the irony..?). I thought it was mostly factual otherwise, and like all opinions, those can be interesting, but ultimately unimportant and irrelevant to anyone else.

I'm not going to give them a view, but perhaps if you could summarize it would be worth discussing.

I am thrilled with my car, and I still love driving it after almost 4 years.

What you have to realize is that different people value different things, and often reviewers have an agenda. I used to like Kyle Conner, but frankly his hatefest of the new Dodge EV was well over the top. It was clear he hated the car going into it, and his opinion wasn't going to change.

On another note, things go wrong with any complicated product. My wife bought an ICE Cadillac 2 months ago and the transmission failed after 500 miles. Yes that sucks, but clearly not every one has a failure like that after 2 months - it's just the luck of the draw.

This Youtuber is a joke. He has a hate boner for all EVs in general and even hates most modern cars. He acts all snobbish as if he's a big YouTuber but no one outside the small space even knows him. Probably doing it because that is what drives the views.

He's probably a Subaru WRX or Mitsubishi EVO type of person. You know these freaks. I should stop there, enough said.

Right you are..... Being a critic is easy, being an innovator is very hard. Listen - cheap criticism is like a fart in the wind. For an instant, it makes a lot of noise, but it's noxious effects go away quickly.

It’s an interesting channel. But I take it with more than a grain of salt, as I do with many YouTube channels. But, each to their own.

The video is over a year old, but here's Gemini's summary of the video:

The Mustang Mach E is a 2020 electric car that has had a few issues, including a recall for a faulty control board in the battery pack. Ford has tried to fix the problem with a software update, but that has not worked for all cars. As a result, Ford is now doing a full recall of 30,000 cars to have the control unit replaced. The Mach E is not a bad car, but it is not a great car either. It is an average car that is overpriced. There are no compelling reasons to buy a Mach E over an internal combustion engine counterpart. The Mach E is a first-generation electric car and it has some teething problems. Buyer confidence has been sapped in the car because of all the recalls. The Mach E is an electric car for the sake of being an electric car. It was not made to break new ground. Ford is stuck in the one car game and the trucks are keeping them afloat. The Mustang Mach E is a noble first try, but it is not enough. Ford needs to rethink its entire structure and industry.

I have a feeling that some of its takes are outdated... There have been significant price drops for the 2023 and 2024 models. The Mach-E is the 4th best selling EV in Q3 '24, and if you're looking strictly at non-Tesla's, it's the best selling non-Tesla EV. https://www.carscoops.com/2024/10/t...d-mustang-mach-e-is-americas-3rd-favorite-ev/

It’s been a tough weekend. We have some damage on the battery rails on a vehicle we picked up 2 weeks ago. I’m not happy with ford or my dealer right now. So last night I looked at every available EV on the market. I wouldn’t buy any of them.

Can I find a few things that I don’t like about the Mach-E? Sure. But who is making a better car today? That’s my subjective review and the only one that matters to me.
