I have a lot of these issues too. The most frustrating thing is most could probably be fixed with software.

  • Auto “walkaway” door lock- I have never used this because I don't trust it and would likely never trust such a system.
  • Rain-sensitive wipers- Mine always work when it is raining. They also wipe when the windshield is dry.
  • Speed-sensitive volume- this doesn’t work at all. I agree.
  • Qi charger- doesn’t work. I agree.
  • Suspension- It's rough? Our roads are crap... so....
  • Seat memory button- Never had this happen.
  • Day/Night lighting on dash- Agreed. It is buggy occasionally.
  • Bluetooth- Doesn't fail often, but when it does I get all my screams out. Bugs my wife more than me.
  • Back hatch- Mine REGULARLY requires two presses of the on-screen button and/or the button on the hatch to open or close the the hatch. First press does nothing at all. FOB never has this issue. Maybe it has to do with the car being locked? I don't know, but it is frustrating. (I'll look into the TSB mentioned above)
I have other gripes too, but they are all the typical stuff. Ford says, "Look for an update!" and it feels like a snipe hunt. Even if the update is a recall. 5 second limit, 12 VDC anxiety, etc etc. In the end I still like the car and don't regret the purchase. Kinda wish I had leased due to advances in tech, but I knew that going in.

You have a warranty, take the car to the dealership.
I have a warranty and my car has been in the Dealership for almost 2 months now. Close to 5 weeks starting in Nov. and close to 2 weeks and counting currently.

When you purchase a new "expensive" car from a manufacturer that has been around 100 plus years, the last thing you want to hear is, "just take it to the Dealership".

Gee, wouldn't it be nice if you didn't need to? Also, many of those items will not be fixed by the Dealership. I have found they are rather clueless at my Dealership and I am quite confident the same can be said at many Dealerships.

I didn't used to regret my purchase but now I hate it with a passion.

I totally get the OP.

Not certain why Roy thinks this is funny? Is it the "my car has been in the shop for almost 2 months part"? :curse:

I can't find this TSB. Do you know the number?
https://www.ford.com/support/service-information/

(I did notice the 1mph bug should be fixed Q1 2025 ?)
I might be miss remembering…the charger not stopping had a TSB dealer updated my modules during that also.

Dealer should be able to do the rear door module update under warranty though….update does fix that issues.

Don't understand about not trusting the walkaway. I mean that's why it has an audible honk, it honks when it locks. I note it on rare occasions doesn't work when I go to a particular walmart but I'm cognizant and listen for the beep.

The rain sensitive wipers. I only turn the auto option on when it's wet or raining.

I detest the honk, so press the button it is for me. Maybe If I linked it to my phone to get a buzz notification. But then my wife would get it too probably... A reason I want to see the car lock (lights and mirrors fold) is a history with nefarious types causing interference that blocks the fob from communicating with the car.

I feel like turning the wipers on and off kind of defeats the purpose of rain sensing wipers? I guess not entirely as the speed is adjusted appropriately when it is raining. I may try this if the dry-wipe bothers me enough.

Walkaway lock also has a timer on it...

Yes, whining.

Most of the issues described in the OP are things I have experienced randomly, but they don't bother me at all.

The walk away lock failure is new, and that used to work reliably. I think that problem is related to the current PaaK issue, but I could be mistaken. Something changed with FP or PaaK over the last few months that caused it to stop working. Now I just press the lock button on the door or my fob. No big deal. My previous car didn't have walk away locking, and my wife hates it anyway. LoL.

Regardless, I just don't find these issues to be worth complaining about. My car is awesome, and I love driving it. I guess if those little things were important to my enjoyment of the car, they were bother me. Nope!

BTW - there are things you can do to improve suspension comfort, and many in this forum have led the way finding solutions. Mine rides better now that I have done some of them.

Coming from both a Model Y and. Model 3, don't expect that the ride will be better. The Model 3 suspension is hard and not forgiving. It's tuned like a sports sedan. The Model Y was better than the M3 but not better than my 2024 Mach-E. I did hear that Ford made suspension improvements over the years but please don't expect a great ride in a Tesla.
FWIW. Tesla softened the suspension on the 2023+ Model Y's. Also, there are several affordable aftermarket adjustable shock options for Tesla and ZERO for the MME.(n)

I see a lot of love on these boards for the MME, but I don’t think I’ve seen many posts like mine. I don’t know if I just got a clunker or if my experience is the rare outlier, but I’m really disappointed with my MME. There’s actually a lot I like about it but the things I dislike are making me regret getting it, because they’re all things that I’ve had in other cars that worked as they should, all the time. With the MME, there are issues with the tech but they’re intermittent, so it’s not as if I can bring it to the dealer and get them fixed.

I leased the car in December 2023 so I’ve had it one year, two left in the lease term. I am kind of looking forward to the end of the term so I can unload it and move on to something more reliable. I update over WiFi when it’s sitting in my driveway and the software is up to date, so I don’t think that’s the issue. Here are some of the problems I’m experiencing, and I’d be curious to know if anyone else also has these issues.
  • Auto “walkaway” door lock- this works most of the time but maybe 1 time out of 20 it doesn’t. For example, I park in the same spot at work each day and I usually hear the lock/chirp when I’m almost out of the parking lot, but every now and then, it hasn’t chirped by the time I get to the door of the building. I have to walk partway back to the car to lock the doors with the remote. I have “lock/chirp” anxiety.
  • Rain-sensitive wipers- often the wipers will be wiping when the windshield appears to be completely dry. Other times, it’s actively raining and they don’t wipe. I have the auto wiping set correctly on the stalk, and sometimes it works properly, but about half the time it doesn’t.
  • Speed-sensitive volume- this doesn’t work at all. The volume doesn’t turn down when I come to a stop and it doesn’t get louder as I drive. Sometimes I’ll be driving at a steady speed and the volume will suddenly increase, then maybe a minute later it’ll return to the original volume. It happens on different radio stations and Spotify, so it’s not the station causing the problem.
  • Qi charger- doesn’t work. It recognizes when my phone is set on it (Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra) and it will begin to charge, but after about 5 minutes it stops because it’s overheating the phone.
  • Suspension- this car has the worst suspension of all the cars I’ve had in my life. I feel every bump and crack in the road.
  • Pressing any seat memory button brings up an alert on the dash about the lane-keeping system (??). Bizarre. The alert also often appears when I get in the car and the seat moves forward into driving position.
  • Day/Night lighting on dash- it often gets confused. Sometimes at night, when it’s dark, the dash lights up brightly as if it thinks it’s daytime. Sometimes the dash lighting is correct for the time of day but the nav screen is wrong, sometimes vice-versa.
  • Maybe 1 out of every 20-25 times I get in and start it up, the Bluetooth won’t connect to my phone. I have to stop, put it in park, shut if off and (this is the key), open the door. Then I close the door and start up again and it will connect.
  • When the doors are unlocked and I open the back hatch by pressing the button on the underside of the hatch handle, the hatch opens fully. But when the doors are locked, it opens only a few inches and I have to press it again to fully open. This is annoying.
Any one or two of these things would be so minor that I wouldn’t even mention them, but there are enough that I just feel like I shouldn’t have to put up with all the glitchiness for what this car is and what it cost. I really expected a more refined vehicle and am regretting not going with one of the other cars I was considering.

Sorry for whining, I'm just envious of everyone who doesn't seem to have these issues, as I really wanted to love this car. Counting the days until my lease ends.
I can relate to some of these. I’ve had problems with the walkaway door lock, speed sensitive volume, and Bluetooth connectivity. And as the OP described it, among the most frustrating aspects is the inconsistency. It can work 20 times and all of a sudden, for whatever reason, it just doesn’t work.

I wish Walk away lock had the option to disable at "Home". It always seemed to work great for me, and I'd get a notification on my phone or Apple Watch when it triggered the lock which was confirmation I'm good. Worse case I could always open the app and hit the lock button.

The issue at home is I'd forget something in the car and get locked out and have to go find where I put my phone or grab the keyfob or the wife would be standing in the garage waiting at the door for me to finally come out and unlock her door as we were about to go somewhere... I eventually just turned off the Walkaway locks and now manually press the lock button on the Pillar. Again, shame Ford couldn't give us the option to Disable @ Home since most people have a garage and don't necessarily need to lock their car there. AND you obviously have our location because it's needed for the "Charge to Target %". ?‍♂

This is an interesting set of concerns.
I have no love for Ford either.

I find the cabin so quiet that I've never really been concerned with the speed sensitive sound, no idea if it works, honestly never thought about it, I have music playing all the time too.

If the ride is rough and your feeling every bump your tire pressure is over 39, check it. Nothing fixes the jiggles though.

My latest phone is only warmed by the mobile phone heater, this problem is complex though as I've had phones overheat in the past running AA, my new phone is only lightly warmed now unless it has a full battery.

I always plug my phone in because I get faster charging and a 100% reliable AA experience.

I've never noticed walk away lock not working with my key.

I set the dash to night mode and never looked back.

I thought the hatch thing was addressed in software.

Might be worth making sure automatic updates are enabled, your car might need some updates.

I find the wipers adequate, I've only been annoyed like a handful of times in very light rain, do you need new wipers?

Honestly worst thing for me about the car is the dealership but it's not significantly worse than any other make, I wasn't treated well at my last dealer until I was a customer for like 10 years.
