I'll be getting the Hankooks for 3 season driving. Everything I read keeps coming up roses. The small amount of difference in wet traction is of no concern to me.
My '21 still has the original Michelins it came with, but from Nov-Apr it rides on Continental studded winters. I'll never not have studded winters on my vehicles up here in northern Canada.
45,000 km on the car and this will be the last summer on the stock tires, wear bars are getting close!

I’m not quite yet in the market for new tires. I’ve got two wheelsets and have only driven 24k miles in 3.5 years.
I only have 17k miles but sadly have a non-patchable screw in the sidewalI.

I started thinking I would get the Hankooks. The Goodyear ElectricDrive 2 seems to be better at every single thing other than efficiency. And that’s by a small margin.

Might you have a link for that comparison? Thanks in advance for your reply.

It's the test results in the OP.

Goodyear ElectricDrive 2 (Grand Touring All-Season, 235/40R19 96W)
  • What We Liked: The quietest, most comfortable tire on-road in the test.
  • What We'd Improve: Its steering and traction feel out-of-step with one another.
  • Summary: For a regular, straight-line commuter tire, it stands out above the crowd, but its driving characteristics, when pushed, have room to improve.
It wouldn't say it's better in every other way than efficiency, but I believe the core of the comment is that if you're looking at the ION and the ElecricDrive 2, you're probably not worried about the ultimate grip and or feel and more interested in how good the tire is to live with and from that perspective I would agree...their results seem to suggest it's a better all arounder than the Hankook.

Take a look at the Tire Rack 2024 EV video where they compare 9 EV tires. Both of those were in the comparison. Across most categories the Goodyear beat the Hankook. Except one. Expected range. And Goodyear was only just behind. The Goodyear was 4th place overall combined score. And it was #1 among all AS tires that were normally available at retail (the actual #1 was the stock tire on the Tesla model 3 performance).

I got a set of Pirelli P Zero All Season Plus Elect from Tire Rack. Great tire. I do not see much change in range from the OEM Pirelli Summer Performance tire. We have had quite the winter in upstate New York from a very rainy November to a very snowy January & February. Tires have been solid from rainy to snow covered roads.

I really wish those tires were in the test. Those are what I'm most considering but efficiency is starting to become more important to me. These DWS 06+ tires are great driving tires but they hurt my range by probably 10-20%...and with time they've gotten noisier. I am ready to try something new after 30k miles.

I ended up buying the Elects today myself. I did so without them being in this big test from Tire Rack. Primarily because they are on a good sale right now at Discount Tire and a lot of people here love them. But also I think they fit the character of a GT a bit better. I really wish they had been in this test.

I have some experience with the Hankooks in the snow. I posted a review here:
