Accelerated onto a highway in my Mach E Premium this morning from a slow roll alongside a Mustang GT Fastback. We both kind of looked at each other and knew it was on. Thought I'd show the driver how a real car accelerates. Man was I wrong. Guy blew me away and was going about 70 by the time I got up to 45. The guy slowed down a minute later and gave me a victory wave.

To avoid humiliating defeats like this, the Porsche Taycan\Audi GT platform has that two-speed gearbox that shifts at around 45mph ;-)

When I was on the way home with my Rally, I got behind a trUck/trailer and had to crawl @ 45mph for a bit. I noticed a GT right behind me. When we got to the passing lane section, I put it down (whisper mode). In about 2 (3?) seconds I hit 100 and backed off. Yoiks!

Eventually the GT caught up and I let it pass me. I knew I was heading to speed trap territory.

According to my research, the MME Rally does 0-60 in 3.4 and the Stang GT can do it in 3.9 (10spd auto).

I'd be curious how their 40-100mph times compare...

I live in Seattle. I’m lucky to get to 65 on the freeway ?

I guess I'd have to take it to a track to find out ;-}

Since the ICE gains torque as the RPM's increase, I reckon that in an even match the ICE GT would take the E GT.

But I don't risk blowing a head gasket, clutch, turbo, or differential with my Mach E.

0-60 is from a dig and ICE GT is 12.3 @ 116. The Rally's and '24+ gt w performance upgrade is 11.8 @ 115. The traps would suggest that only those mach-e's could keep up with the ICE from a roll ...the rest of us would get smoked.

lol yeah even the GT is going to struggle on a highway pull against and ICE GT. From a dig we'd get em but from a roll...no way.
Why is that? What’s going on technically?

Wow! You guys can get up to 65 MPH?! Speeds like that are but a dream on Philadelphia expressways ?

I don’t think an ice GT would have a chance against a 24 and later GT w/ performance upgrade and summer tires. You need all these to get the 3.3 sec performance and 11.8 sec 1/4 mile. The Rally is slower than the GT w/ perf upgrade as the latter has better tires.

5 second limit, power pulled based on increased speeds, all resulting in low trap speeds. 24+ GTs with performance package levels the playing field..but only levels it.

12.3 @ 116 vs 11.8 @ 115. The Ice GT is barely FASTER crossing the finish line, but the MME is QUICKER because it has the traction advantage at the beginning.

A rolling race - it's more than likely going to come down to driver reaction..who hit the go pedal first.
But a 21-23 GT...not a chance. Sit that one out.

I also own a 2024 F150 King Ranch. From a dead stop my Premium Mach E4X will beat my truck untill about 40 mph then the truck with the 3.5 Ecoboost pulls away.

Spin the 6 180 degrees and you see the avg speed in Phx, 95, in the HOV, In a Ram 1500 quad cab, pulling a 2 axel trailer full of 4 tons of rock, whilst chugging a Monster.
As for myself I'm from a dig or less than 5mph. At any rolling speed the tip in power is crap as Ford limits the amount of torque to apply if rolling. (BTW tip in is where most high HP tuners have to spend a lot of time adjusting ICE Fuel/Air/Timing because it's a higher load. I could tune my Lightning WOT in 3 minutes and not nuke the motor, but tip in and it'd ping like crazy possibly sending the rods out the side). The Load on the MME is similar if not worse than ICE because they could supply more power to the motor(s) causing stress on the windings/wires/controller because it's possible to feed all at once.
