I was once oneFrom the new book...........EV Charging for Dummies
Due to unforeseen circumstances beyond our control ….Right, that's it, who do I need to speak with about getting my 27 seconds back?
Well, own up, who? ?
I treasure that quiet timeOut of curiosity, how many of you sit in your car while at a DCFC? I think I've done it twice in 2 ½ years....
Wait, I think I know the answer...EA chargers are primarily at the back of a parking lot / middle of nowhere with no amenities?
I typically take the dogs for a short walk and sometimes take a leak myself.Out of curiosity, how many of you sit in your car while at a DCFC? I think I've done it twice in 2 ½ years....

At least in California when I travel the EA chargers are behind Target, Walmart, etc for shopping, coffee while waiting.Out of curiosity, how many of you sit in your car while at a DCFC? I think I've done it twice in 2 ½ years....

I use one in Everett Washington. It’s an abandoned Walmart and rarely anyone there. Hidden secretAt least in California when I travel the EA chargers are behind Target, Walmart, etc for shopping, coffee while waiting.
2 years ago, when forced to use EA, it had to walk into Walmart and get a snack and use the restroom and if luck grab nearby food if available (often not an option) and then waste 30+ minutes waiting in the car. Since getting Tesla SC access, we do the same but at much better locations like Buc-ees or Target to have better nearby food choices and much shorter durations 15 minutes or less. We did three charging sessions this past weekend, all at Tesla SC, and two were under 15 minutes, and the longer charge was before the return home and that was for 35 minutes, much less time than the old sessions using EA. Also, the time it takes to start charging is less than that video (20 seconds), so there is no more fiddling with apps or calling to reset the charging station. Only once since getting SC access have we had to wait, and that was less than 5 minutes. I once waited 20 minutes just to get an EA charger spot in Amarillo and then took another 40+ minutes to get to 90% required to make the next stop. No food nearby since it is at a Sam's Club, and we don't have a membership.Out of curiosity, how many of you sit in your car while at a DCFC? I think I've done it twice in 2 ½ years....

The 3 EA chargers in Hawaii are all at Walmarts. The single public Supercharger is inside a parking garage at a mall (The other two superchargers are private — yes really). It’s all a matter of where they can get a lease. At least in California when I travel the EA chargers are behind Target, Walmart, etc for shopping, coffee while waiting.
You don't need a membership to access the food court or pharmacy at Sam's Club. Frugal, filling meals await. No food nearby since it is at a Sam's Club, and we don't have a membership.
Walmart closed all the Sam’s Club in Washington State. Slowly Costco is adding stations. I went to the one outside of Vancouver Washington and was great! You don't need a membership to access the food court or pharmacy at Sam's Club. Frugal, filling meals await.
