I thought I'd start a thread for this Sync Update. Saw 1 2024 get this OTA so far. Anyone else?

Was it released yesterday? I just had my car at the dealership last Friday and I don’t think they applied that update.

I got it as well last week. I am in the EAP program though.

I got this today. Very first update since getting the car in early November and I’m in EAP. Received an email a couple of days ago asking how I liked being in EAP and my reply was - if I ever get an update I’ll let you know.

Ford sends out more updates to the update process but then never sends any actual updates. Useless developers.
I'm not blaming the developers. I know Ford is figuring out the whole "software-defined vehicles" strategy, and it's tough, so I'm willing to show some grace. Tesla is way ahead of all car companies right now. I know someone with a 2024 Chevy, and the software update system is completely broken. The update module hangs when querying for updates.

@bburk00 Any chance you could post a screenshot of the Sync version? I'm still trying to get a fix for the wireless Carplay/Android Auto issue, and it would be nice to show the dealership there is a new version of Sync, although I have to imagine they're well aware of it.

Not sure if the APIM update is available to all vehicles in FDRS yet. So far it seems only those in the Early Adopter Program (EAP) are receiving this update

I blame the developers because they are bragging all over the internet about how great they are doing with the 1.5 update when hardly no one has gotten anything past 1.0 that came with our cars from the dealer.

They don't even admit there's a problem but continue to vaguely promise us of updates that never come. If you want to lose trust with a customer I couldn't think of a more efficient way to do it.

I seriously doubt the developers have anything whatsoever with the distribution.

It's not that simple. The update would need to be released for your VIN for the dealer to be able to do it. If your car is not on the latest Sync software and FDRS does not show a pending update for the Sync modules, there is nothing the dealer or anyone can do to update it until the update becomes available on the server for said vehicle.
