Focus on the "Car image in the center of the IPC is always displayed" issue since that should always be reproducible.

FYI you'll probably get it as OTA in a month or so unless your car has stuck updates, so you could decide not to press the issue.
I mentioned the off center speedometer but it didn’t make a difference as they could not see the updates. Maybe ford will run my vin to check from their end. And yes I might get it over the air

Noticed something not mentioned in the release notes: when the Android Auto connection randomly cuts out, now it auto reconnects. Very helpful given the random disconnection exists. Of course preventing the disconnection in the first place would be better.

Thanks fo the patch, Ford.

Do we know what PowerUp this will show as? I have been holding my car from not updating to 6.8 since this issue was announced. Last week my car, on its own, reenabled automatic updates and dutifully told me it would update with an inhibit at 1:00 am. I naturally disabled updates told it "not now" but it replied the update was in progress and could not be stopped. I grumbled for about 30 minutes and hoped my SOC would block the update. After religiously following guidance to get previous updates- IRONIC. I woke to no visible changes with relief the next morning. It has since alerted me again and as always tapped "Not now". So it seems maybe I should let it proceed now. If all else fails a trip to the dealer might resolve this. I am assuming the 6.8 being pushed to my car has the flaw. Or is this a new version, I wonder.

@RickMachE, are you in EAP?
If I was, it would be against the rules to say I was.
If I'm not, then it would be ok to say I was, but it would be fake news.
Like BigFatOrangeMan, I will just keep you guessing...

SanTan Ford is awesome. I called service and explained my story. They agreed to proactively install this for me. Said it might take a day or two to complete.
Yeah but I am still getting the old PowerUp style notification.

How does it look with adaptive cruise control on and active while all steering / lane assists are off?

Holy crap it's happening. I've been annoyed by the car being there forever now.
Read up on how to turn all the ADAS off before it installs on your car. ;)

Sorry, but I don't understand what you mean. Can you share one of those notifications with us?

Any active ADAS will cause the car icon to be front and center so that the driver can tell at a glance just what the ADAS status is. The same as before they took the centered speed away.
