Interesting! Just another data point, my 2022 Premium ER AWD (in production 1/5, built 3/1) has laminated glass.
Can you post a photo showing the proof of lamination? Is it something printed on the driver’s window itself? Or on the window sticker for the car? I have a 2022 Premium ER RWD that was in production on 1/4 and my driver’s side window doesn’t indicate it has the acoustic lamination.

Driver side and passenger say tempered. Front window says lamented. Don’t hate me but I don’t care as I am one of the few people who hate ac. When it’s just me rarely use it. With hubby I use the ac! Try I g to understand the gom and the miles per kilowatt

Very interesting. I know several people in the 1/3 and 1/10 groups with premium models that did NOT get the laminated glass…but their cars were in production after 1/10. I think you are very lucky…
I have a Premium model and have tempered glass. Honestly, this ride is the easily the quietest ride I've ever had, so I'm not sure I know what I'm missing. It's really quiet when compared to my 2012 Jeep Wrangler with the top off  .

BTW - I kept my Jeep - talk about 2 different driving experiences - An electric Mach E versus a 6 speed manual transmission Jeep Wrangler with 'Bubba' tires. Both are great driving experiences.

Getting my front windows tinted today. I found the best shop in North Florida. I'll have a conversation with them on different tints and if there are sound proofing options with tinting.

Also, a little concerned with bugs / road debris ruining the paint on my 'grill'. Might consider a GT imitation vinyl grill wrap.

Finally, my friend is getting his Rivian delivered today - Eventually, I will post pics of our rides together.

I hope you all are enjoying your rides! For those still in purgatory, the day will come. I wish I would have spent more time reading the online owner's manual and less time cussing at Ford.com / Pals :D

The front windshield is always laminated, and I think it will say "Sound Shield" in the lower passenger side corner of the glass.

In 2021 all GT and Premium models had laminated front door window glass. Officially laminated glass does not exist on the spec of either car in 2022, but some 2022's had laminated front windows. So far, I have read about one Premium that was "built" in the first week of 2022 (I suspect the chassis may have been partially assembled in December 2021). All GT PE models that have gotten to the owners that I have heard back from seem to have laminated at this point, not sure about GT non-PE models. I am sure that this is going to be a running change since Ford announced that they will be making changes to the car at any point and laminated door windows are not officially available on a 2022.

It is only the front drivers and passenger doors that may have been laminated or tempered. They are both 70% transmissive (meaning a 30% tint).

Here is a view of my window glass partially open-looking straight down. It is focused on the edge of the front door window glass. You can see both layers of glass and the sound deadening lamination layer.

Laminated is a nice to have, but these cars are so incredibly quiet. I drove a friend's 2022 premium and his car is also super quiet. I am sure that there is a difference but I could not tell from the short drive in his car.

I'm going from a 2015 Tundra Double Cab that i'm selling and will still have a 2012 Tundra Crewmax. Both 4 wheel drive with offroad tires and loud exhaust. 15mpg on a good day. lol

Our Mach E replaced our 2017 Chevy Bolt. Our other daily driver is a 2002 Toyota Rav4EV that we purchased new 20 years ago (one of 238 built and one of very few still on the road). Still able to go at least 80 miles, but we rarely push it beyond 65 miles as we are trying to keep it on the road for as long as possible with correct vintage 20 year old batteries (it was rated at 80-100 miles of range when new). The battery technology was designed in 1994.
Ford Mustang Mach-E 01/03/22 Build Week Chat Rav4EV and MME GT PE

We only need one long range car since it is either my wife or myself who go a long distance at a time...or it is both of us together that are going a long distance at a time. The Rav4EV is now just used for local driving...and now there is not one public charger for it as far as I know in the greater Los Angeles area...so it is on a natural range limiter, but it is solid and reliable and it goes everywhere we need to go in it.

But wow...EV's sure have come a long way in 20 years... The 0-60 in the 2002 Rav4EV is much slower than the the 0-100-0 in the Mach E GT PE (The 2002 Rav4EV is 0-60 in 20 seconds). The Rav4EV was designed to be emulate the driving "performance" of the ICE (4 cylinder) version of the 1996-2000 of the Rav4 but it has a speed limiter at 78 MPH (but it is a slightly quicker 0-20). The 1000+ lbs of batteries at the bottom of the car gave it a much lower center of gravity. It had amazing tech for the day and other than window tinting, wiper blades, tires and the KYB rear shocks every part on our Rav4EV is 100% Toyota. Toyota built 1288 of them for the US market (almost all in California, but there were a few in New York and Georgia, and possibly Arizona), but from 1998-2001, they were only available to fleet lease customers and almost all of them were destroyed by Toyota after the lease was over. Only 339 of them were ever offered for sale or lease to the public in the 2002-2003 period-and few remain running or outside of museums.

Special features of the 1998-2003 Rav4EV:

26 kW NiMh "prismatic" battery pack (about 0.8 gallons of gas equivalent).
The front wheels are powered by a 67HP brushless motor that put out 140lb-ft of torque (it is 2WD)
Ceramic Aluminum front disk rotors (not available in 2003)
High efficiency heat pump/AC system
High Voltage (300V) Heated front windshield (defrosts in seconds, also not available in 2003)
Heated front seats [and optional heated rear seats - "cold weather package" (included on this car)] (also not available in 2003)
Induction charging (small paddle type). The 1998 used a Yazaki conductive and optional CHAdeMO fast charging and 1999 used a large paddle inductive).
Single speed transmission
Unique Low Rolling Resistant tires (LRR)... 195/80 R16.
Special light weight body panels and window glass.

(These cars should not be confused with the 2600 Tesla powered Rav4EV's that Toyota made in 2012-2014)

Since we sold our Bolt last year, we had been mostly using our 2013 Volt (that in 9.5 years has only used 186 gallons of gas in the 79K miles of driving @ about 422MPG (if you don't include electricity)). The 2013 Volt will go to one of our sons full time this summer since we now have our MME. Our other son has a 2017 Volt as well, but it too neither car will use gasoline on a daily basis. Typically we will get around 6000 miles on a tank of gas.

Since January 1999 we have driven well over 330K+ miles on pure battery power. Our 2013 Volt was the last new "gas guzzler" ;) we will ever purchase for my wife's and my daily driving needs. It has been over 20 years since my wife has pumped gas- she has no muscle memory for it and does not miss it at all.

I still have my modified 1965 Sunbeam Tiger show/race car that I have owned for 41 years and we could get some kind of vintage classic gas powered car for show/fun...but neither the Tiger nor anything else that we may get with a gasoline engine won't be used for daily driving.

Thank you! I definitely have tempered for my front door windows. I knew the front windshield is laminated. I haven't bought a car in the last 25+ years that didn't have a laminated windshield. Hows that for a double negative? So my question was definitely more focused on the side windows.

I figured you and everyone knew that...but wanted to be very clear that I was only talking about the door windows. with "laminated" and "front" used to describe the subject...I wanted to make sure it was clear.

FYI: it has been more than 25+ years for laminated front window glass. It was actually in 1937 that laminated front window glass was required in all cars-in the USA at least.

I only started buying new cars in 1996, so my knowledge prior to that was limited, but I do recall that laminated windshields have been around for a long time.

You should offer the Rav4 to Doug Demuro to do a test drive/review.

I did last year... and he did respond to me directly a few days later...but also said he is incredibly busy...so politely he said he is not sure if/when he will review it.

I have a January 2022-build GT non-PE. I posted a pic of my front driver's side window in a previous thread on this subject to show that my GT has the laminated front side windows.
