Mine is still on the train to KC, currently in Laredo, TX. Ford chat was more helpful than the dealer....

Still no modules. I realize I’m in a better situation than most since I bought a 21 off the lot, but I’m actually ok with this extra wait if it means I get the new part!

I'm in the same boat, no modules yet but in the meantime enjoying a 2021 that took 9 months to be delivered. I'm curious, are you going to be a 2-MME family or will you trade-in/sell the 2021 when the 2022 arrives? I'm stuck on the fence over whether I should just keep the 2021 or sell it and buy the 2022. I only need one of them and I'm very happy with the one I have. I'm wondering what your thoughts are.

I originally bought the 21 with the intention of keeping it and not taking the 22. It’s the reason I traveled 850 miles to get what I wanted. I kept the 22 order mainly to see how long it would take. Then after seeing prices for my 21 skyrocket my plan is to sell the 21 for the 22. I will trade in if the value is right since it’s a tax savings. I’m happy with the one I have, but have some odd computer/tech issues. I’m hoping the 22s will have some of this figured out.

I’m single and don’t need two of the same exact car. I paid $2500 over MSRP for the 21, but right now looks like I can sell it over only a $1000 loss out the door not including the tax credit. So basically I can drive a brand new car for $200 a month then sell it with 7500 miles on it after 5-6 months and get a new one that’s a year newer. Yes please!

This will probably never happen again in my lifetime. It would be stupid to not take advantage of it. Although to make clear this was never my intention.

Sell the 21 and take the 22. Take another tax credit and the profit. The dealer will make the profit if you don’t.

Just make sure you have put some good miles on the 2021, in case you get audited. And if you get an actual profit on the sale, make sure to declare the capital gains. Because if you declare two tax credits and sell the car for a profit, you have to show that you weren't trying to game the tax code, in case you get audited.

Sales tax where I am in AZ is a little over 8% and it's charged on the difference between the trade-in allowance and the new car's price. That makes it more desirable to trade the 2021 rather than sell it myself since the additional money I'd receive by selling it myself could easily be absorbed by the new car's sales tax. This fact gives the dealer some leverage to low-ball their offer if I were to trade it in; they'll be motivated to maximize profit on the 2021's resale since they wouldn't be able to put ADM on the 2022. The $7500 tax credit has some appeal but I can only benefit from it by taking steps to create a tax obligation for it to offset.

I'll probably wait until the 2022 arrives, late July or August I'm guessing, and look at the numbers. If I can come out ahead by getting the 2022, I'd be dumb not to do it. But if it's less than a break-even scenario, I'm pretty sure I would be happy with the 2021. Those my thoughts as I balance here on the fence. :)

Captain's Log, Day 17. Batch 6103, 11/300. The nightmare continues: no modules. The rest of the 5/23 fleet is well ahead of us now, and with no end to this delay in sight, it seems like those vehicles will be delivered before we've even left the factory. The rest of the crew and I are trying to keep our spirits up, but now there are days I can't even bring myself to load the module page. May we see movement in the coming days.

FL sales tax is only 6% but works the same way. I will weigh both trade in or selling when mine comes in. Driveway offered me $57500 this week with 7500 miles on my 21 AWD Premium SR. I paid a $2500 ADM and $799 dealer fee and overall I’d lose $1000, but the 22 will be less since no ADM and X plan.

Check all the sale companies like driveway, Carmax, etc. if you didn’t pay ADM you should come out ahead on the 21 sale.

Thanks for the advice. The tax stuff is over my head sometimes. I’ll probably have 7500 or more miles when it comes in.

You should be good. You just have to show that your intention was not to sell for a profit and that you actually used the car.

Got delivery date, 7/20 - 7/26, Southern California!
woohoo! order status finally changed to shipped this morning.

looks like things are moving again.

?

According to Ford chat, our Mach-E has crossed the border and is currently in Laredo, TX.

Still have the same delivery estimate though.

To everyone still waiting for yours to be built, keep the faith! You are probably getting the new HVBJB and will never have to deal with "stop safely now".

My vehicle shows a long list of modules, but has been stuck as “in production” since 5/27.
No clue as to what’s going on with it.

I looked at Driveway, and. was EXTREMELY skeptical of their “we take your car and send payment a few days later” policy. I do not trust that business model AT. ALL.
