As we are all preparing to take delivery, make sure to watch this video on Ford's Price Protection. Skip to 30 min into the video.



Essentially, not only is our price guaranteed from when we ordered our vehicle (as i did with my 2022 that got converted to a 2023), the incentives that were offered at that time are also guaranteed to us. This means that your APR will be several points lower if you finance through Forde credit.

If this works out, I will be getting a ~2.3% APR as that is what the rate was in April when I ordered my car.

Oof. I ordered 8/30/22 and my dealer said the rate was/is 4.99. I'm hoping he pulled the current rate instead of the old one.

i was told 8/30/22 = 4.49% + $2000 rebate at least here in northern california. that was characterized to me as the protected rate/incentive.

If I’m not mistaken, that $2,000 isn’t a Ford incentive. I believe it’s a California EV incentive/rebate.

ah ok, he did call it a rebate. since i asked him to check the Options program, and i got that in response, i connected the two.

i thought they had means-tested the CARB rebate out of existence for me but it looks like everyone is still eligible for a 2K base rebate. so that is good news. must be something new because i think 3 years ago i was not eligible.

somewhere along the line i got money from PGE for the leaf and the bolt, and i think maybe even for my plug-in prius, so i guess i shouldn't complain. also got a free Blink EVSE from the DOE with the leaf but that really was a piece of junk.

edit: the CARB website calculator is very confusing. it asks you to put in the number of people in the household, which changes the income ranges in the next drop-down. the last income range is $X and above, and if you select that and run it, it tells you you're eligible for a $2000 rebate.

however, if you go read the fine print, if you make more than 200k per year, you're not eligible. so nothing has changed, i think. oh well.
