I have a Ctek 40-206 MXS 5.0 charger that I intend to use while 4 months that my Mach Ex is in garage storage. Do I have to disconnect the green HV connecter when I attach the charger to 12v battery positive post (disconnected) and the neg on the engine stud? I plan to leave the vehicle HV charged to 50%, but am not sure if is a must to disconnect the 12v to HV connector.

No. Just connect your charger to the approved jump points and you are good. ??

I leave my MME for long periods all the time. I have a house in Delaware and a house in Georgia. When I leave my MME in Delaware, I have it connected to a level 1 charger. I have created a departure time schedule for every Wednesday. With doing this, I have left mine for three and a half months with no issues. BTW, I read using Gemini that you should not use the jump cables with a 12v battery charger. The Gemini has a full response for this by asking "Can I charge the 12v on a Mach E from the jump port". Of course others may have done this without issue.

You could just follow the instructions in the owner’s manual for storing the car for 1 month or longer.

Really? Why would anyone do that when you can use an AI and get incorrect information? Sheesh!

Gemini is hallucinating. It also gave you bad advice about putting your full address in a public profile. Glad it didn’t ask you to also post your ssn and dob.

I laughed at the street address. Not hidden any longer...

You know a funny thing happened to me a couple of years ago on this very subject. I was about to get a total knee replacement and was slated to be unfit for driving for about 6 weeks. So I did something really odd, I read the manual, drove the car until it was down to the manual’s recommend charge and followed the rest of the instructions.

Now you’re not going to believe this, but when I was ready to drive 5 weeks later, I hooked everything back up and the car started right up. I’m still flabbergasted. Who knew?

Oh look, a condescending ass hole who knows everything. Thanks for your answer. BTW, regardless of the manual, the Gemini method is tried and true and I've done this exact thing for over 3 years. I leave my Mustang up to 3 months repeatedly over those three years. But since you know better than everyone else on the planet, I'll start consulting with you for all my life choices. Perhaps no one else should present their ideas since ass holes like you are here to help.

Oh, shush. I don’t know about Rick, but I’m not offering you life advice for free.
