Do you have a recommendation for a little portable 12v AGM-compatible charger?
I like the GOOLOO brand jump packs on Amazon.

So I dont do a ton of far driving as everything from my work and places I shop are all within 15 miles from my house. If I do recommendation of leaving my car on for 2 hours a week with no AC to charge the 12V battery can I have my car actually plugged into my phase 2 charger so its not depleteing the HVB?
Yes.

I know I’m probably gonna answer my own question but here it goes. If you plug something in to the cigarette lighter to charge externally, for example, portable battery pack, without the car running, is it using the 12 V battery, but if I start the vehicle does it affect the 12 V battery and get charged through the HVB? Probably both answers are yes, and yes.
Yes and yes. 12V ports are shut off after 15 minutes like other Fords.

On my question, I screwed it up on that last one. So if the car is running and it’s plugged in to the cigarette lighter, is it draining the 12 V battery, or is the HVB keeping the 12 V from draining? Thanks

DC/DC converter runs while the car is on and keeps the 12V battery charged.

You better rush right out and take care of this. It is an emergency. ?

It is strange your dealer didn't say something if they determined your battery was going bad. Did you call them to ask about it?

Just saw it on ford pass going on a short trip up coast to cape Kennedy Sunday. I was hoping a fluke. I saw somewhere to charge HVB slow Should I plug in my L1 charger or use L2 up to 100%. Hotel has a bunch of l2 so will be charging every night. I don’t think critical. Have time to use L1 if it’s better for the 12v.
And no didn’t call dealer as they are closed now.

Your 12V battery was fine a month ago during the last OTA. I don't see a reason to replace it yet.

I know the FAQ says the 12 v battery only charges when the car is on, but I have been testing for a month, and when my Mache is plugged in at night to the ford mobile charger to a plain old 110v outlet, my battery is restored to 100% every morning.

Because it's a website coding error that references LVB % instead of HVB %. They will fix it eventually, and it will return to showing high voltage % instead.
Lee, I have accepted as an article of faith, so to speak, that the SOC displayed on Ford.com is the LVB SOC. To your knowledge does it remain valid in early May, 2024 rhat the coding error still causes LVB v HVB SOC to be displayed on ford.com on (name’s) account home page? I continue to see different SOC levels displayed on ford.com and FordPass which may suggest values for two different batteries are being. I’m not aware of any issues with the 12v battery in my car. I’m just trying to better understand what I’m seeing since I haven’t found any statement from Ford identifying the location of a LVB SOC display. Thanks for your time and thoughts Lee.

This is what I am seeing also. I have my car set to stop charing at 90%, but leave it connected to 120v all the time. The ford website had been reporting it was getting over 14v and the SOC% went from 80-92% this last week. If I unplugged the car it reported ~12.8v

It's now reporting 13.5v and hopefully will get to 100% eventually. But to me, it appears the 120v mobile charge applies a trickle charge? (Have not got out a multimeter to check).

OBD scanner also reports 13.5v when plugged in, drops as soon as I unplug. Car is not being charged.

This battery sat on the lot for almost 10 months though....so probably really needs conditioned if the 120v charger isn't doing it.

Thank you for this detailed post! I guess I didn’t realize I would be maintaining two batteries with this car.?

Yes, but the 12v battery has been more of a challenged for me to keep charged given my life is mostly short trip driving. So now I understand how it charges and know what to do to keep it charged. I didn’t expect something like a simple 12v battery to be so lame on such a sophisticated car.

My ford.com account doesn't show the voltage of my lvb, it does show the percentage of charge.
Do you have a link for this website that shows the voltage?
