Had dropped off my MME today at the dealership service center for the glass recalls. I see this notification on my Ford pass.
MME is at 20k miles and possibily parked in the cold at the lot.

Is this the doomed message? Those experienced in this, is the solution a 12v battery replacement? How to avoid it in the future?

I got this once when my recall was being done, but it never came back. I think it's because they leave the doors open while they work on it all day as well as overnight to let the fumes dissipate.

I was checking the FordPass Widget daily during mine and my windows were always down and doors always open.

Phew that gives me some confidence. Looks like the hood is currently open.

I wouldn’t worry to much about it right now. It could be as simple as they left something on or even a glitch where it is giving you an erroneous warning. If it turns out there really is a problem at least it is already at the dealer so they can address it at the same time.

Happens pretty much everytime the vehicle is in the shop. Window tint. PPF. Updates. Muffler bearings. The doors get opened and closed multiple times or left open for a long time without the car being “started.” The 12V battery drains down a bit so the car lets you know then tops itself back off.

I get it every few weeks in cold weather for no apparent reason.

Yeah, I get the message regularly because of PaaK. It constantly wakes up my car from inside my house or the garage. Nothing to worry about.

As has been reported by many people, this is just a poorly worded message and doesn't necessarily indicate an actual problem.

Ford Mustang Mach-E 12v battery fault. False positive B286B993-73B7-467A-8733-F71AB8DA792B

Just got this one myself. My car is at the dealership getting the speakers checked and some updates installed. No surprise in the message. They’ve had the doors open for hours.

I got the same message on my app. Has anyone found the cause of this? Or maybe a resolution? I can't seem to find any info as to how the 12v battery is even charged. Is it charged through the drive battery or only when the car is plugged in? And how does a vehicle this advanced not have any way to see what the voltage level is in the 12v battery in the app or the car? I'm pretty sure every Ford since the Model T has had a voltmeter.

Yes, the message is triggered when the DC/DC converter kicks on to charge the LVB when parked and off plug. This can happen if the doors are constantly being opened and closed (like when the car is in the shop) or if it sits undriven for a few days in the cold. The message is horribly worded since it doesn't actually indicate a fault. If the operation is successful, it really shouldn't be notifying the driver at all.

Thanks for the info! The car didnt seem to have any problems so i just ignored the message and will have the dealer check it when it goes in for the recalls.
