12V BATTERY REPLACEMENT

Successfully replaced the 12v battery on my 22 plate AWD Ext Mach today with one supplied by Ford. Kept the battery on a trickle charger until installation. Charger indicated that the battery was fully charged. I followed the procedure for resetting the BMS as shown in an article on this forum but no matter how many times I performed the procedure the car's battery icon did not flash 3 times indicating a reset. Any comments please. I ensured that I flashed the high beams 5x and the brakes pedal 3x within the required 10 secs with the accessories button on.

I read in one article that when you first turn on the ignition after the 12v battery change you have to press the “OK “button on the steering wheel that comes up then carry out the standard procedure with headlight and brake pedal.
My car is nearly 3 years old and I’m thinking of changing the 12v battery, where did you get your new battery and what was the cost please

I, too, have been reading the chain discussion about the 12V LVB replacement at three years. I had no trouble, but took the strong recommendation to replace at 3 years to heart. I also have a 22 Premium Extended eAWD. But that's not something I wanted to tackle. I scheduled a home visit by the local dealer. The team with a truck of parts, a mechanic and a computer guy, came to my garage. The same pair had been to my garage previously to address the door-locking software update. I didn't take it on warranty, but paid $235. I am glad I did it, I can rest more easily...for another three years.

Hi Paul - Spot on mate - many thanks. I pressed the OK button first as you said - then completed the procedure and the battery icon blinked 3 times so all done. Battery supplied by Allen Ford, Dunton, Essex cost £194.92 part no: F2641060.

BAGM-H3 (Ford/Motorcraft) or BHAGM-H3

Just replaced mine after 4 1/2 years. $133 from Ford. Followed instructions in YouTube video that only required removing two panels and was able to lift battery out and replace in about 20 minutes. Reset as described here works.

Zero reason to buy one from Ford vs Rock Auto if you are doing it yourself, unless you like to spend more money needlessly.
