the 12v status can fluctuate pretty significantly on any given day. I will say in eleven months my gt has never been below 80% and stays typically 85-95.. But I believed they've updated how the 12v battery is maintained in later years.is it normal to have the LVB regularly in the 60%? wonder if my 12V battery is going to die soon.
Yes.is it normal to have the LVB regularly in the 60%?
It depends on when you're checking it. If it's at 60% immediately after driving for 20 minutes, I'd be concerned about a problem. If it's at 60% after the car has been off for 3 days, it might be fine.is it normal to have the LVB regularly in the 60%? wonder if my 12V battery is going to die soon.
see that's different from my eleven months experience on my 23 (I had a 21 for 2.5 years). The 12v has never been below 80%, and it tends to stay 85-95. Morning after charging it typically reads 95% or so.So with all this recent talk about 12v batteries failing, I have been watching our battery charge more closely. We went on vacation and the car wasn't plugged in and the battery got down to a high 60% but once I plugged the car in it went back up to the mid 80% range. I've never seen it after a long drive and overnight charge get higher than 85%. I also noticed today that after a short drive and being plugged in all night the 12v is reporting 74% today while parked at work. We are over 30K miles now and bought the car in May 2022 so the initial warranty is nearing its end. I prefer to replace the battery before the warranty runs out so what would trigger a replacement in Ford's eyes?
We have a 2021 Subaru that had the battery go bad just a few months ago but since we had an extended battery warranty it was covered. It appears batteries don't last as long as they used to.
That's a little on the low side but not unheard of. If you haven't driven it for days or only drive short trips that might be typical.is it normal to have the LVB regularly in the 60%? wonder if my 12V battery is going to die soon.
No it hasn't because it doesn't update when the car is off. Send a lock command in FordPass and then check the website a minute or two later.Any idea how often the 12v battery status is updated? I been away from my (unplugged) car for 2 weeks And the battery status on the web says 95%. I’m wondering if it has updated since I left.
Yup, that's normal if it's been sitting for a couple weeks. The TCU shuts down to save power so no remote communications are possible (fobs still work). The 12V battery should still be maintained by the car if it gets low.Says in battery saver mode. Please drive to refresh.
