Did he confirm whether or not the updates in 21P22 increase the usable battery capacity?
I installed all the latest updates available via FRDS (as of 16 Dec, looks like two new updates posted - one for the ABS and one for the audio system) and can confirm that a) the DCFC charging rate did increase (43kw ~80-95%; disconnected before it went above that), and b) there was no noticeable increase in available battery capacity, suggesting that the 21P22 update does not include the battery usable capacity adjustment. For reference, build date of Jan 2021, so predates the July cutoff for the DCFC update that has been referenced here a few times.

Interesting perspective. I did not even consider a Tesla because they own you through the software. I felt very uneasy buying a vehicle that they have complete control of.
So here's food for thought - in the FRDS software, there is an option to reset a permanent OTA inhibit value. Makes me wonder what could trigger Ford to permanently block OTAs...

Think inhibit means it can’t be installed while the car is driving. I’ve read the one of the next OTA will be an inhibit one that you have to do parked or while the vehicle is off.

I did too, but I haven’t found a way to really tell if the battery capacity is any different.

Charge to 100% as displayed on the screen and then connect your scanner to read the actual SOC. Then apply the update. If the 88 kWh usable changed to 91 kWh then displayed SOC should be around 97%. Charge to 100% displayed and check actual SOC via scan tool and it should be around 3% higher.

What proof says it’s not true? Some bs photo shop of a DM ??‍♂ My 13 year can do in his iPhone ?‍♂
go read my 200+ post and 15 thread started and judge by yourself if it’s consistent with my forum history to Photoshop a fake conversation to fool everybody.

People should instead congratulates Darren Palmer for taking the time to answer an owner concern. He´s that kind of guy if you ever listen an interview or a podcast with him. I assume that being an admin of 2 Mach-E Facebook groups helped (he didn’t ask for proof of that, screenshot weren’t even necessary).

Well look at it this way. The new Kia EV 6 GT Line AWD coming out with it's 77,4 kWh battery has 100 km more range already then the MME Premium SR AWD, only the LR 99kWh battery can do that in the MME but here in Canada it's a $7,000 dollars (CAN) more to get it. So contrary to what I thought at first I'll probably won't keep the MME for 10 years, I'm seriously considering ordering a Kia EV 6 GT Line AWD if the price comes close to what I paid for the MME Premium SR AWD, considering the similar equipment but the additional range. Ford had told us early adopters that it could update anything via OTA but so far we still have to go to the dealer and I mean an OTA that gives me Tic Tac Toe well....... and does minor corrections to the softwares, it's not what I was expecting at all. Increase in useable battery that would be a valuable update. My car is actually at the dealership for windshield and pano roof recall plus the DCFC recall also but at the same time I have to pay for a new windshield has mine was unfortunately cracked has many of us has experimented, badluck most likely after more then 40 years driving receiving rocks in windshield and never had one cracked I suppose.
I feel like I wrote this post this reflects me exactly and I was looking at the BMW i4

Boy, I'd love to learn where that option resides. My vehicle has never received an OTA update and was built in April. I've been doing them via FDRS to avoid dealer visits as much as possible. Too many horror stories about being without the car for long stretches of time.

There are a couple of issues with that. The actual SOC displayed through the OBD port regularly changes and never seems to equal the rated usable capacity at 100%. This margin of error is too wide to be able to tell if there's an increase of 2 kWh. The other issue is that I've already updated so have nothing to compare it to.

If I recall correctly, it should be listed as an option under the FDRS Toolbox tab, along with the options to program individual modules. Not sure if you have to be actively connected to the car to see these options. By the by, if you've been running the available updates via FDRS, I suspect your car likely wouldn't need to receive any OTAs.
For reasons that are unclear to me, I recall seeing the OTA version drop from 1.7.x to 1.6.0 after I updated all the modules (something like 25 updates, not counting the supplementary updates included when updating the PCM itself). However, about a week ago I saw OTA 2.1.x (not sure of exact version, but it is what everyone here has been asking about/referencing) pop up on FordPass and on the car's center screen (fun fact: the Sync [APIM?] updates include an icon that shows up on the main screen; resembles the file download icon from Firefox and appears just left of top center, near the user profile icon whenever the system performs an OTA update).

“… Ford Authority reached out to Ford for some confirmation, and EV Product Communications Manager Hannah Ooms has confirmed to Ford Authority that the 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E will not be receiving the same improvements in battery capacity or range as 2022 models.”

https://fordauthority.com/2021/12/2...ill-not-get-2022-usable-battery-increase/amp/

If true so weak

But it does make it look like 2021 MY GT/GTPE got the increase IMO. 2021 was suppose to get 250/235 but ended up 270/260 and has the same range as 2022. Just my guess.
Didn’t that British guy who runs the Mustang Mach E program repeatedly promise additional capacity would be freed up during numerous YouTube videos?
This is why I stay away from YouTube - it’s 99.99% “fake news” ??????

I'm yelling because Ford can't keep their story straight. Ever. First we get it, then we don't. I really don't care, but don't tell me one thing then another. Sick of this BS software, empty promises, missed deadlines, etc. I used to be patient, but now I'm annoyed. I get the struggle they're going through but it appears so mismanaged it honestly is unbelievable.

Don't get me wrong...I really do like the car though....most of the time.
Well said, I love the vehicle and I know they’re pushing improvements, as they said they would at launch. My issue is that Ford leaders seem to be running around making promises that fall through, change, and or are retracted.
Someone needs to take REAL ownership of this program at Ford and do a much better job of change management (meant in the program management sense), and clean up their communications program. At a minimum, they need to have an internal log of every quantifiable communication being madeX who made it, when, and on what media? Nobody should be allowed to make any definitive statements about product changes or enhancements unless approved through the program. And any statements that were made, which are no longer valid, should be updated/revised proactively. This is all very basic stuff! Sheesh.

But did Ford really say what the reporter said they said??? ?
If not, then ford needs to issue a statement clarifying that they were misquoted (or better, get in the phone with the reporter and have the reporter clarify that they quoted ford incorrectly). None of this is “difficult”.

I’m not disputing your veracity. I think everyone here is trying to contribute constructively. That said, I’d be careful about citing Facebook, or any content from Facebook, as authoritative. ?

I think you missed a few pages of discussion……

He cited a direct conversation from Darren Palmer.
