2022 Mach-E the two FOBs are not equal

I just put the fob 2 very close to the pillar and then the pillar button worked.

So, maybe it IS a weak battery.

Did you try swapping the batteries between the two fobs?

Watch those fobs with your life. I have a 2021 that only comes with one. I lost it to the point where I went to the dealership to b told they couldn't help me other than to special order me one. So, I eventually found it and it now has an air tag on it

I guess we've given the OP at least a couple things to try.

OP should set up PaaK and backup codes in the meantime.

Started issuing 2 fobs with July 7, 2021 builds. My build was June 26. F’d!

I’m pretty sure the problem is not the key fob battery. I have the same issue and replacing the fob battery has not solved things. In my case, both of my key fobs have stopped opening the doors upon approach.

Picked up my 2022 Premium on 2/26 and was given two key fobs.

Key 1 - recognized as I approach the car and can open door by pushing button on pillar
Key 2 - not recognized as I approach car and button on pillar does not work, BUT I *can* push unlock on FOB and *then* button on pillar works.

Why the difference and how to fix?

At first I though fob 2 was not programmed by dealer, but the unlock button on the fob works, so am confused.

Are all 2022 getting 2 fobs, I'm picking mine up at the end of the month and on the order it says only 1 on the order details?

If you didn't get two FOBs when you bought the car new, go back to your dealer and tell them. All new MachEs should have two fobs now, this was a part shortage thing.

If you didn't' get two FOBs buying a USED car then your mileage may vary. I believe used cars are sold "as is" so your best bet is to ask nicely unless the contract you signed says 2 fobs.

Not a battery issue, a screwed up software issue. My car was bricked due to a dead 12V battery. Both key fobs with new batteries stopped working. Both had to be reprogrammed by the dealer, there is no self fix. Fobs are administrator keys that have to be programmed by the dealer. Both work now but PAAK no longer works and my car thinks it is a fleet vehicle and does not know me. No WIFI hotspot now, connected vehicle features deactivated, no more Blue Oval charge network. Ford chat help is just a chatbot that says take it to the dealer after they already had it 13 days. It just gets better and better all the time.

I don't believe he bought it new. His profile shows a 22 model and he just bought it.
