2023 Mach-E Premium Extended Range (ER) AWD & RWD get more EPA range

EPA range figures are out for the 2023 Mach-E and the the Premium Extended Range AWD and RWD models get a slight bit more range.

I've wondered about what changes drive these increases since 21 and whether the 21 and 22 cars see the same... If the changes are SW, I'd expect earlier cars to match this. If the changes are HW, then no.

Considering where we are in the refresh cycle I'd expect the changes to be only SW.

• sw change to the motor controller?
• HW change to the motor?
• HW less weight?

So, my 2023 MME AWD gets 36 kWh / 100 miles or 2.78 miles per kWh. Since I pay a off peak charging rate of .08 kWh I'm paying $2.88 per 100 miles. NICE!!!

I personally feel I'm getting an avg of 3.1 miles per kWh, so its even cheaper!

One more possibility is that it’s all the same and Ford is actually just getting better at running the tests to get better numbers (or that it is just testing variability year to year)

Thats what I’m averaging also, although this doesn’t take in to account the 3 or so percent overclocking of the odometer Ford builds in to the MME to slightly overstate the range and hurry the warranty period along….

See if they have a 'super off peak' rate. Ours is 1.4 cents kWh for all power used 11p-7a

That is an unbelievable rate, you are are lucky. I am getting the EV program discount of .08 which is half of the normal off peak rate.

All you have to do is drive past a radar gun. When my MME shows 35 MPH on the speedo, radar consistently shows 33 to 34 actual. My last Ford was the same. My Service Manager tells me that this is common with Fords.

This proves absolutely nothing. Have you actually mapped any of your driving, using official distances between point A and point B and then compared to what the MME's odometer or trip screen gave you?
