Chino Hills Ford. Knock yourself out.
Yah, Chino Hills Ford is notorious for huge markups.

I avoided them when I ordered my Lightning as they mark up special orders by $15K.

As a whim, I went there asking about selling my Lightning as my MME is coming in - they low balled and then said they mark their used Lightnings up $25K.

This dealership is an example of how they take advantage of the wealthy folks in that area!

Not that at all, at least for me. Well aware that ADM is still charged. My dealer adds $5k Adm onto website orders delivered by them on MY 23. I was surprised by the AMOUNT of the markup, and would have liked more data in the car (options, sr or er battery, etc) to better understand OPs post and comments.

I had a real battle just getting my local dealer to let me order a base Select. The new EV business model is badly needed.

I think we all accept that most dealers are adding ADMs. I think the tension in this thread was more from the OPs combative stance and responses that didn't answer any of the questions they were responding to.

I think it’s funny that in the last 2 years people have forgotten how to negotiate.

Asking price isn’t selling price.

That said, it’s December, and buying a car this month is worth $7500 more to many people than buying one next month. So if there is a car available now……. People should be willing to pay an ADM.

I’m very confused. What questions did I not answer? Only thing I didn’t do was lost the window sticker. I made this post to show that dealers are still asking crazy ADMs and to that end I made a post showing what the MSRP is and what the asking price is. In didn’t think the specifics of the car matter. People were responding to my posts as if I were somehow making this up.

Dealerships won’t even allow you to place an order and wait 6-12 months without adding like $5,000 ADM. They’re doing essentially nothing up front other than clicking a few buttons and then doing the delivery on the back end. The MSRP should cover these things. Before COVID, dealerships routinely sold basic cars at or below MSRP because we all know that allows them to still make a very good profit. Now they’re trying to complain that MSRP isn’t enough?

Negotiation isn’t an option in many places, such as here in Portland and Seattle. It’s a take it or leave it proposition, even for orders. I had to cancel my Lightning reservation because of it and get on the waitlist for a Rivian instead. I would have ordered another Mach E while I waited but I can’t order one without a markup that makes it too financially imprudent. Ford has lost at least 1, and maybe 2 vehicle sales because of this ADM stuff. Probably doesn’t matter to them since the cars are still getting sold, but it definitely leaves a sour taste in my mouth.

I can understand ADM for vehicles available on the lot today. What I can’t deal with is a huge ADM just for a dealer to accept an order that I’ll wait 6-12 months to receive and they just have to click a few buttons and do delivery prep.

FWIW, I picked up my Mach-E GT Performance Edition with the Nite Pony Package on Saturday 3 Dec. My dealership whom I have been purchasing vehicles from for 12 years now (between my wife and I, we have purchased 9 vehicles) added a "Market Adjustment'" of $3500. More than I would like, but still ADM :-(.

Negotiation is always an option.

Might be worth a drive to Idaho.

I didn't think you were making it up. I think we are misunderstanding your posts, and you are misunderstanding others replies.

I am sorry if I misunderstood yours. Without knowing what the battery size is and other specifics, it is difficult to understand whether there is a big markup or not. You did go back and add the MSRP, but by that point we were already talking (or in this case, posting) past each other and getting more and more frustrated.

That said, and starting over - $70k for a Premium at $56k sticker is INSANE. I hope there are better dealers who aren't marking up as much in your area. My dealer has been adding ADM on 2023 MY orders since I spoke with them in October. I ended up paying $8,500 ADM on my GT which was a stock unit, after negotiating down from $15K ADM.

Anyway, Happy Holidays. Peace out!

Yes. I believe our lines got crossed. I’m really not in the market for one myself. I picked one up for my wife a couple months ago but one of my friends is also looking so i try to see what’s out there for him.

not sure how much longer dealers can expect to get the additional markup on these, especially with higher interest rates and the car sales slowdown, so I think it's pretty dumb if they don't negotiate or at least just mark it at MSRP

I don't have an issue with dealers marking up their own inventory. I think that's fine, and the buyer can make their decision. Dealers marking up an ORDER is where I have issues. My dealer is marking up their Mach-Es by $10K. But I paid under MSRP on my order with them (X-Plan), and they were great about it. But then, I waited 13 months. Paying the ADM is the cost of skipping the line, in my mind.

Dealer I was in contact with emails to let me know they got a 2023 Premium in today. He didn’t specify if it’s extended range or not but did say I can have it for the low asking price of 69440.
Edit to add MSRP: 56275
Where are you located?
I visited about 6 dealerships yesterday to start talking about their Model e programs and every single dealer is sitting on lots of MMEs in their lots. Say they can't find any buyers. There is a nice GB FE at San Tan Ford. Bell Ford had about 8 of them sitting there. Peoria Ford had 6 or 8. Chapman in Scottsdale had at least 4 or 5 that I saw. They are all over the place here in Phoenix area and they are willing to deal. No ADM and might even go below MSRP.

I am guessing they all are 2022 models....
Is that a problem for you?
