Well if it doesn't qualify as an SUV and the 80k cutoff there will definitely be one less order.
An increase in price of 20% over my 2021 Premium for no real improvement makes it a poor value. I paid a little over 47,000 after the $7,500 tax rebate and now it would be $63,000? I don't think so.
Original plan was to trade it in at 36,000 miles when the full warranty were off. Then I thought okay well for a few dollars more I can get the new car considering what my trade-in would be worth and the Xplan. But now even with a good trade in value and X-Plan still a lot of money to trade for car that's 2 years newer

Yeah I think Ford was tired of customers upgrading their older models for newer models and making a decent profit so they basically put an end to that.

It was a bust. Order banks won't open for dealerships until August 30th. So new pricing will be in effect.

You don't do anything with X-plan when placing the order, the PIN was used when purchasing. But it's moot because it seems that Ford did change their policy for 2023.

Spoke the dealership today (The Ford Store Morgan Hill) and they also confirmed that 2023 Mach-E are no longer eligible for X-Plan.

i've been lurking for a while and just wanted to say thanks for all the great info in this thread.

i had found out about the x-plan pricing some time ago and joined the mustang club so it's a disappointment that ford isn't going to do x-plan on the 2023 ME. not surprising given the demand but then again their margins are probably pretty good on this car.

mainly i had hoped x-plan would guarantee a little more hassle-free experience at the dealer. i don't want to be trapped in the finance manager's office while they try to sell me floor mats. this happened to me when leasing the bolt and it was a terrible experience. had put a deposit down on the BMW i4 and actually canceled it because i envisioned myself in this situation and decided it was not worth it. the tesla direct sales model definitely has appeal, but i don't want another tesla.

I am just back from the dealership and put in my order for a 2023 MME Premium AWD SR. Put down a $3,000 deposit and including taxes title etc will pay $64,750 roughly total including the $3,000 deposit .

I’ve seen several folks say this, that the battery requirements don’t take effect until 2024, but I don’t understand where that is coming from.

The law’s text states the battery requirements come into effect following the secretary’s proposed guidance, and it says the Secretary must propose that guidance no later than December 31, 2022.

What, if anything, am I missing that would cause the battery requirements to not take effect in 2023, aside from a decision to waive the requirements?

``(B) Applicable percentage.--For purposes of subparagraph​

(A), the applicable percentage shall be--​

``(i) in the case of a vehicle placed in service after​

the date on which the proposed guidance described in​

paragraph (3)(B) is issued by the Secretary and before​

January 1, 2024, 50 percent,​

(B) Deadline for proposed guidance.--Not later than​

December 31, 2022, the Secretary shall issue proposed guidance​

with respect to the requirements under this subsection.'​

I opened my comments saying it was too early to say for sure, and that from what I've seen it "looks like" the battery sourcing requirements won't be an issue till '24, but did not say they definitively would not be effective till '24, as you suggest. That said, I have read similar speculation, but also, given how this legislation has bent over backwards to benefit Ford, GM, and Tesla, it wouldn't make sense for the government to expect battery sourcing changes in 3-4 months. I expect these companies have piles of non-compliant batteries ready for builds over the next several months, and they're not going to trash them. Though I view this current administration as totally inept, I have a hard time believing they'd screw up on something so near and dear to their hearts.

Reply text from my dealer (in northern CA) today: "...might open mid September...we don't have a confirmation from Ford yet..." Sounds like he really doesn't have a clue. I'm stalking these forums and the ford website for more official word.
