Geese are evil, nasty creatures that should be exterminated, along with their mammalian counterparts - deer ?
We do our part. Well, on the geese. ??

Leasing a Lucid Air Pure this weekend. It is a 2025 for $544 a month, after referral and on-site discount and other EOY incentives, with no money down for 18 months with 18k total miles. Will share my impressions compared to my CR1. Already know my base model doesn’t have 360 view or as a Blue Cruise equivalent so let’s see how it goes. Still love and keeping the CR1 but wanted to try something else and felt that this was a good price to experiment/go a little crazy

Lucid would be a serious consideration if they weren’t owned by the Saudi “Government” ?

I actually didn’t realize that but if anything, they can’t be making money on my lease so I’m playing the long game

I have been a Ford guy for a long time as well. I have 22 and am also trying to decide what to do as I approach the end of warranty. The thought of owning a Cadillac has always seemed weird but the Lyriq has some good reviews on YouTube. This is appealing since my wife hates the stiff ride on the MME.
I test drive an Optiq a couple weeks ago. Acceleration was "casual" to say the least and it drove like a really heavy beast. I decided against it.

You might consider a Chevy Equinox EV though. It can access the Tesla SC network and seems to be getting good reviews.

We looked at Lucid when they first came out a couple years ago. That is one long EV! And the Gravity looks to be the same length.

Next year the will release a mid sized SUV in the 50k range. Rumors say it will be called Earth but no confirmation from lucid in the name.

I like my MME but wish it had faster DC charging, more range, and a little bit softer ride.

The Rivian R3x may be interesting too but maybe a little too small

Yes I've heard that too and would consider the R 2 or R3.

We keep looking. The Mustang is the only thing out there that comes close to meeting our needs. The R2 may be interesting if it's a reasonable price and is available when we reach 100k miles. We have a reservation. We also had a reservation for the Scout Traveler, but it's such a big vehicle and is going to be far outside of our affordability given the way the economy is going. So I dropped that reservation.

The Telo looks interesting. If we have an opportunity to drive it, we will.

The Kia/Hyundai options are always interesting, so we may go that way too.

We have a couple more years before we have to worry about it.

i guess i never updated the thread. ended up getting a 24GT at the end of the year last year. got a pretty good deal plus ford had all kinds of incentives. the CFO actually likes the car a lot and none of the other EVs out there seemed super palatable. so i've rolled the dice with ford again, despite the problems we had with the 24GTPE. this car was purchased so we'll see how that goes.

the 24GT has a few annoying downgrades, just dumb stuff like no more rear hatch button (you use the button that opens the hatch to close it as well) and the rocker panel covers no longer have a nice plate that says "GT" anymore, just an embossed plastic thing that says "mustang". also these cars don't come with BlueCruise so i'll have to pay for that if i want it. the suspension on the 24 seems a lot tighter and i hope that's not just because the 23 is already worn out (meaning the 24 will become the same way after a while.) they changed the turn signals on the front as well, they are also cheaper/simpler.

i found out that CA made it illegal to buy extended warranties online which is really stupid. so i can't take advantage of the cheap extended warranty offered here, and will probably have to pay thru the nose at a local dealer to get one. i feel like it is probably a good idea to have this.

The way I heard it, if you use an out of state address you can buy the warranty online.

From a financial analysis perspective, buying a new vehicle vs. buying an extended warranty on a vehicle you've had for 3 years seems to be pretty simple.
Ding ding ding! Correct answer. Stick with what you know. I don’t see any greener grass at this same price point.

And I’m gonna keep beating the drum on this, but it makes no darned sense to jump into a new purchase or new lease for battery and infotainment tech that is 4-5 years old. Not when some revolutionary upgrades could be 3-4 years down the road. Not unless you’ve just got money to burn. Not with the number of quality used EVs on the market at fire sale prices. The people who want to pay new car pricing for outdated tech and rapidly depreciating value… SMDH.

I worked out the kinks on my FE under warranty and I’m just gonna drive this thing until something that’s actually better comes along.
