As long as they can find people that will pay $1,000 to have tires rotated, it'll never happen.
I did my 3 year two weeks ago including break fluid replacement and 12 volt battery replacement and it was $400 dollars. I don’t know what else you could do. My points paid for all of it.
Assuming that there is actually nothing about the car warranting repair, not even an ICE car should require that amount of service at 30k miles, unless it’s European. But no EV should EVER hand you that kind of bill for a one-stop ‘service interval’ throughout its lifetime. Take that dealer off your list of places to take your car; they are clearly unscrupulous rip-off artists…..assuming again that there is n other actual thing wrong with the car that they/you haven’t yet disclosed.

I’ve never changed brake fluid on any of my cars. Has anyone else really done this?I have had a couple of dealers tell me the 30 K service is expensive. There is nothing different on the service schedule except for the brake fluid change-out at 3 years. That isn’t worth $952. My tire swap cost me $48 from my 2021 to my 2024, so I suspect a rotation would be similar. ??
I previously always just tested it for water, since my previous vehicles until fairly recently suggested that. I’ve only had one vehicle actually test as needing new fluid, and it was a 1993 Thunderbird, so it’s been a while. lol My vehicles that have a hard interval of 3yrs haven’t hit 3yrs yet.
I haven’t done a mileage scheduled service since 1983 when they wanted 800 for a Mercedes 15,000 mile service. And I have driven 2 vehicles to 190,000+. When I take them in for rotation or with ICEs, oil changes, they automatically did all of the inspections because they make more if they find something wrong. But that’s me. Dealerships don’t like EVs because there’s little to do. When I had my 250 in for an oil change my service guy told me they rarely see EVs come in for service. New ICEs needing warranty service are seen a lot.
What a bunch of bologna. They dislike/hate EVs and they come up with this nonsense. My dealer hasn’t done or asked me for any of this crap. They know better. I wonder what they do to their ICE customers.Here is the itemized service
I bought one of those maintenance plan in the past for an ICE and it was a complete waste. There were always charges that were not covered and the ones that were covered there was not enough time in the contract to cover the price of buying it. I will never pay for one of these upfront again.
It’s so all over the place though. Took my wives Edge to a dealership for her 50k (I did not look at what the manual recommends) and they just did the normal tire/oil change and went “Ford doesn’t recommend anything else yet”.
Lots of discussion on the 30K/3yr brake fluid issue. I’m coming up on 30K soon & have had my 2021 for 3.5 yrs w/o any brake issues. And, like most on this forum, use 1-Pedal drive exclusively. Which begs the question, does actual brake use have any impact on the fluid degradation?!
Supposedly, no. The reason for changing is that the fluid is hygroscopic thus absorbing moisture from the air. Once enough moisture gets in the system, brake use causing elevated temps can cause the moisture to vaporize and loss of braking.
