not? It was mentioned that some dealers don't have body shops! WTH!!
If I look in FordPass or Fords website there is not a Ford Dealership listed as a collision center within a 100 miles. Now I do know 1 of the 4 ford dealers within 30 miles do at least have a shop on premise (but maybe not owned by them), but I know the others outsource to local shops.

Wait, what, I thought the MME was basically maintenance free, at least that’s what many on this forum say? ? Should not cost more than a couple hundred bucks! ?
If you have a Discount Tire in your area they will do tire rotations for free even if you don’t buy from them. The cabin filter is available online for under $20. Washer fluid depending on location is under $3 for a gallon and I have yet needed wiper blade replacements so yeah it’s less than $100 a year if you’re in the right city. Or have a good Ford service department to go to. ??ā€ā™‚

I’ve never changed brake fluid on any of my cars. Has anyone else really done this?
Yes, always, on time.

It’s a preventative measure against brake failure due to vapour lock and deterioration, corrosion, sticking or seizure and seal deterioration from the inside due to corrosion consequent to the presence of moisture absorbed by brake fluid.

I previously always just tested it for water, since my previous vehicles until fairly recently suggested that. I’ve only had one vehicle actually test as needing new fluid, and it was a 1993 Thunderbird, so it’s been a while. lol My vehicles that have a hard interval of 3yrs haven’t hit 3yrs yet.
I tend to do quite a few boiling point tests with a proper thermal tool and find plenty of cars with high moisture content, it’s usually a measure of poor/lack of maintenance and consistence with a load of other elementary checks & servicing that’s not getting done on the cars I examine.

I'll clean your charge port for $229.99. If interested, I can provide an address to deliver your car to.
Certainly not saying that the dealer is justified in this. They probably won’t event open the charge port door, just charge the fee.

Lots of discussion on the 30K/3yr brake fluid issue. I’m coming up on 30K soon & have had my 2021 for 3.5 yrs w/o any brake issues. And, like most on this forum, use 1-Pedal drive exclusively. Which begs the question, does actual brake use have any impact on the fluid degradation?!
Time impacts on moisture absorption, not degradation.

OPD no effect.

In UK it’s 2yrs irrespective of mileage.

You won’t experience an effect until it happens and the whole point about changing the brake fluid is that you ensure this doesn’t happen.

What part of a lack of proper maintenance of braking systems speaks towards safety??ā€ā™‚

Exactly, that’s how to get it done.

True that! Sad that given all the complaints about Ford service either being incompetent or perhaps bordering on criminal ($1K 30K mile service!), I’d have gladly paid for this 3yr brake service if they pinged me in it! Heck, add on the 12V AGM battery replacement & they’ve got a sweet service invoice!

Dealer I bought my car from….called me the other day asking if they can do the wiper recall check via mobile service.

I asked them to rotate the tires and 10k inspection while they were here.

$20.

Why do you make up such crap? EV weren't created earlier (than Tesla) because manufacturers couldn't generate service revenue for their (independently owned) dealers? ?

Comeonman.
Sure

The maintenance schedules can be found under My Vehicle/ Maintenance when you log into your Ford account. The exact same things are listed from 10,000 miles up to 200,000 miles. Only at 150,000 and 200,000 miles is there an actual item to replace. They're is nothing about changing brake fluid.

I just had my car state inspection and 20,000 mile "scheduled maintenance" done on my '21 Premium ER AWD today. I thought it was odd that they wanted to do an alignment even though its not part of a scheduled maintenance, but I let them do it since I have hit a couple of potholes.

They did have to add some shims, and It is driving nicely, so I'm not too annoyed at the extra cost, but I am interested in what the general opinion is about alignments...should they be done preemptively or just when you notice it's off?

As was discussed early in the thread, the brake interval only shows in the manual, and was even omitted in some of the online manual versions. Since it isn’t a mileage based recommendation it doesn’t show on the mileage based Ford account recommendations. Ford really needs to fix that omission if they are serious about the 3yr interval, as it is causing significant confusion.
