It was. But that's no longer the case since the software is now available and could get pushed to Job 1 cars. I honestly think that Ford just doesn't view it as a priority so it keeps getting pushed down the list.
Job 1 car issues are not a priority for Ford in general IMO. Nor are many of the long-standing "annoying" type glitches. Just my opinion, I've been known to be wrong.

It was a last minute addition to the frunk because the software wasn't ready. The hardware is there and it works, they just didn't want to delay releasing the car so they put the divider in to remove the requirement for the emergency release until they could get it working.
you can really tell who reads the entire thread and who doesn't haha

If Ford doesn't want to expend the resources to package the BCM and GFM updates to enable the frunk for Job 1 cars, they should just put out a CSP that allows owners to have the updates installed at their dealer. Still not ideal, but at least then people who really want it can get it.

Hey I think I was sold the wrong battery cause I'm not getting 230 miles when driving up pikes peak? Can someone tell me what's wrong or if I can add more battery in my trunk that doesn't open when I kick my foot under it which is weird

I'd actually settle for them just telling us it's not coming --ever. But I do not disagree with you at all.

Just use the little box that came in the trunk that adds 50 miles of range. And just keep kicking until the trunk opens. Sometimes it takes 13 tries.

Yeah it works, I was lucky enough to have my 21P22 done very late in the game so I got frunk update, and the switch on the inside of the frunk actually does something now. Before, it wouldn’t make a sound or anything
Wait, you had the frunk update done by FORD???? How????

It's part of 21P22 and I waited till the last minute to get that done, so the updated BCM software was in it that enabled frunk electronic release

I just tested opening the frunk using the Ford Pass app on my cell phone. It worked. Released both the first and second level so the frunk could be pulled up. Last OTA update was 12-5-2022. Don't know the version but it should be the newest. Updates are scheduled automatically, in case this helps anyone.
This is a job 1 issue. You have a 2022. You’re not impacted ?

Do you have a Job 1? I’ve had 21P22 done and that certainly did not implement the frunk release on my vehicle.

I thought the divider in the frunk was put there because the inside release hatch didn’t work and due to safety regulations they needed to prevent a human from getting stuck in the frunk.

So that could be why some job 1s won’t get the release (perhaps a change was made for some of them to enable in FDRS but not all).
Only Job 1 vehicles didn’t ship with an electric frunk release. All vehicles after job 1 did. To the best of our knowledge, Ford has not enabled the frunk release for any job 1 vehicle, even though it’s available through FDRS (which doesn’t turn it on in FordPass).

Yes, but like I mentioned, when they did 21P22 on mine, the BCM software that is part of 21P22 from Ford had been updated, so sorry to tell ya, but it would have worked on yours too if you had waited as long as I had. I really wish they wouldn’t close these CSPs

So, you’re saying you have a MY21 Job 1 vehicle? Build Date please?

How long does it take to run the updater on a Job 1 car?

What updater are you talking about? If you mean FDRS, there’s a whole tutorial Here
