This sounds like convoluted IT trickery. Lol its so funny how these random sequences of events do trigger things though.

I received 3.6.2 and 4.1.1 this week. I almost always receive all of the "updates" in a week instead of over time gradually. I have no idea why they are batched like that. I went to get lunch, came back, had 4.1.1.
Of course this could be nothing more than a happy accident and the order of operations didn’t do much, but I agree that Ford’s OTA procedure is not the best especially when we have an actual software update button. A staggered rollout just seems overly complicated but if Google or Apple put out an update to a phone and it causes a problem that can really stink but if your car has a problem with software you can have a several ton brick flying down the road with no control over it.

Slightly different step order. To be specific I followed the steps below.

1: Turn off car with push button
2: Activate parking break
3: Open door
4: With door open push lock button on the inside of door
5: Exit car, close door, and leave

On both instances I had driven the car for about 20 minutes prior to parking. I am going to attempt to duplicate the update on a family member's car that was delivered in May 2022 and see if it also responds. I do not know what update they are on currently but about a week ago they had 3.5.4 as well.
Tried this but once I walked away it still locked with the walk away feature. Might have to turn off that feature and attempt again later.

I just received 4.1.1 out of the blue yesterday. I had checked a few days before on the Software Updates screen and it was showing no version - just that my car had the latest updates. I wish there was a way to determine exactly what version you are on at any given moment. I'm not in the EA program, so perhaps 4.1.2 is next? soon?

My 4.1.1 came the same way. Got home 4 pm ish (no update) and left the house at 5:30ish and the update was installed.

Any word on if your battery has to be above a certain % for OTA to install? Mine has been low the past few days since 4.1.1

I've been wondering when I would get 4.1.2...

Yesterday morning I had 4.1.1. At noon, I visited a friend at the hospital (for about an hour or so) and when I came back to the car I had the new 4.1.2. I had previously set SYNC to update any day at midnight, so I was surprised. Maybe it downloaded at midnight and installed later?

Some comments:

Overall, I like what they've done with the new UI. Unfortunately all of my SiriusXM radio presets went away even though the channels were still shown as favorites in the listing. Not a big deal as it didn't take too long to preset them again.

For some reason the propulsion sound was set as a default. When I started driving I thought what is that sound? So I had to turn that off.

I also had to re-optimize PAAK.

I wish the battery indicator in the instrument cluster still had a percent display. The long, horizontal blue battery indicator (with tics for 25%, 50%, and 75%) is nice, but I like a numerical value. If there is a setting to turn that back on, I couldn't find it.

Not sure if I like the speed limit sign right next to the speed display - makes it too easy to compare the two. :)

Cheers,
Bill

The update schedule is only needed for updates that inhibit your use of the vehicle. If an update will prevent you from unlocking doors or starting the car, then it won't be applied until the scheduled time.

Updates to SYNC (the infotainment display) are able to be installed in the background while you're driving, and take effect on the next key cycle after the install is finished and verified.

Sounds like you ended up on a guest profile... press your preset button and you'll see everything come back.

The long blue battery bar is only when you're in engage mode.

I second that emotion. Still on 3.5.4 issued November 16th. I really want the temperature control to be on the center dial!

The HVAC update has been "pending" on my Ford Pass app for 2 months now (in Canada, purchased in July 2022).

Shows as scheduled on app, go in car, look at available updates on screen and says my vehicle is up to date.

no clue what to do

We just got our 22 premium at the end of Dec. We haven't driven much at all and had no updates until I took it for a drive last week. Suddenly I got 2 of them. I think 3.5.3 was the last. Any connection to driving and updates happening?
