I’ve decided not to let drunks in so don’t need that specific release. They tend to vomit more with the acceleration.
There's a drain hole and you can wash it out with a hose.

Only the smaller drunks fit though. We'd need a mega power frunk for larger drunks.

That explains the F150 frunk

Yes, they’d have to or job 1s wouldn’t be able to do it via FDRS.
I thought I read someplace that those switches were inactive, and had been confirmed to be inactive by someone testing it by some clever method?

They could be inactive on an unmodified (via FDRS) job 1 car and still have the associated hardware to operate. My question was more directed at whether the hardware to operate the inside the Frunk button was even installed.

I honestly believe that absent a round with FDRS we’re never going to see this feature on job 1s.

Good point.

The button in the frunk is inactive until the update is applied and enables everything.

Yeah it works, I was lucky enough to have my 21P22 done very late in the game so I got frunk update, and the switch on the inside of the frunk actually does something now. Before, it wouldn’t make a sound or anything

Yup, the update is there - Ford just refuses to push it OTA. And Ford likewise refuses to enable it in FordPass, which we cannot do even with FDRS. But the latch can definitely be operated with software.
I just tested opening the frunk using the Ford Pass app on my cell phone. It worked. Released both the first and second level so the frunk could be pulled up. Last OTA update was 12-5-2022. Don't know the version but it should be the newest. Updates are scheduled automatically, in case this helps anyone.

Job 1 cars do not have any official way to open the frunk other than the manual release inside the car. Those that have used FRDS to update their job 1 cars still don't get the buttons on FordPass. It's a failure on Ford's part that is now almost 2 years old.

It looks like you have a '22 from your profile. The issue is with '21 Job 1 cars. Appears to be the same hardware, but different software.

I thought the divider in the frunk was put there because the inside release hatch didn’t work and due to safety regulations they needed to prevent a human from getting stuck in the frunk.

So that could be why some job 1s won’t get the release (perhaps a change was made for some of them to enable in FDRS but not all).

It was a last minute addition to the frunk because the software wasn't ready. The hardware is there and it works, they just didn't want to delay releasing the car so they put the divider in to remove the requirement for the emergency release until they could get it working.

It was. But that's no longer the case since the software is now available and could get pushed to Job 1 cars. I honestly think that Ford just doesn't view it as a priority so it keeps getting pushed down the list.
