personally I think they should get rid of the tiles completely and find a new way to display that info in a compact way. For example, on the instrument cluster screen like every other car I've ever had.

Give me as much space as possible on the main screen for the map, CarPlay, and Android Auto.

Nah I use it all the time for the trip meter. I like the dense info layout. To each his own but it feels much better than having to dig through multiple different layers. I wouldn't mind if they also shifted the camera button there.

I do think that overall, this UI change is an improvement. And sometimes, removing something that was preventing forward momentum isn't a bad thing (but will always be unpopular with some).

I think they are heading in the right direction. I especially love the camera button up top and wish they either added a rear hatch button or (better) let me "pin" a few controls to that top area for quick access (I would have pinned the camera and rear hatch/liftgate and pretty much been happy, so even if it was 2-3 user "pinnable" controls). Also, the re-use of that big knob for other things that make sense to use it is a big win.

Now add back some top-level/summary info to the small tiles (there is room to use a smaller but reasonable tile and not compromise the overall simplicity/readability) and you'll have address nearly all the folks who are unhappy they lost data and be a boon to everyone else too.

The new Android Auto tile is a huge step backwards :(, only takes you to the dialer, regardless of what you were doing. It would previously take you back to the same activity you were on, like Spotify or Maps.

Well it's classic with any update of UI, some are happy some are not. That's life
No, man. No. Just make stuff customizable. Then, there's no complaining...resize icons, change which icons show where. People will ask for certain features that don't currently exist, but there's almost never a reason to lock features that could otherwise be customizable.

If using CarPlay and you switch to User Controls, there is no quick way to "go back" to CarPlay - very inconvenient. Having to go to Home and then Apple Carplay is distracting....

The CarPlay button is at the top of the screen next to the home and settings buttons. What I can’t find is the charge settings and departure time page.

Charging is now an app instead of a setting. Look at Home.

Yeah. It really sucks. Another example of Ford decontenting ?
I have to say I was never a fan of the large cards or widgets as you would call them. It's really just a place marker to get you to something to use last whether it's large or small don't know why it makes a difference. In this case I didn't like those large carts because basically there's so much real estate there, they could use to give you buttons to get to things quicker. Remember, the car is not a phone. As much as we want to believe the car is a computer it's not. I can tell you 100 of the things that are more irritating than their screen changes..

yes I definitely believe that there should be customization available, but with that comes a tremendous amount of coding the other alternative courses to provide useful templates that could be interchanged based on your driving needs at the particular time, which would probably be a better step forward than giving people the ability to customize everything in this release I see them making a compromise between customization, and pre-defined templates by allowing more information to be present it to you and not having to dig around in the interface to find things like opening your hatch, etc.

I believe you miss the entire purpose of the “large cards”. The entire purpose is to give you a snippet of the most relevant information in an app (upcoming turn and road name, currently playing song and skip controls, tire pressures, trip odometer info, key EV performance metrics, and so on). Their primary intent isn’t to launch you into the app - it’s to keep you from having to launch into the app. Now, if I have Apple CarPlay running, I have to switch to the navigation app to get info on upcoming turns, or to the EV stats app to get key EV performance metrics, or to the radio app to find out information about what’s playing (sorry, I really DON’T have every joy division song title memorized ?)
