I looked at a YouTube Video where a guy puts strip between panoramic and windshield, filling the gap, it eliminated the wind noise. I think Ford should fix this during the recall....why have a great vehicle and create this annoyance for customers! I drive on the highway constantly, so this is a bigger problem for me.

I agree ford should fix the noise with the recall. I took my car in to dealer have it evaluated just two weeks ago so the results could be sent to ford. I won't take it in for recall until they formally address the wind noise. It is really a shame, as the car would be unbelievably quiet if the wind rumble I get at the headliner were gone. I don't hear wind noise from anywhere else. All that would be left would be tire noise, which is what it is.

Just received my MME GT 2 days ago. Wind noise at the seam between windshield top and front panaormic glass plates.

Today I stopped by an auto parts store and picked up 8ft of some 1/4" O.D. black tubing that could be like an engine's vacuum hose tubing. Stuffed it all along the windshield's 3 sides. Wasn't too easy. Had to really pull on the tubing to make it skinny and then stuffed it in.

Mine generated windnoise pretty much every time over 30+ mph.

Took it for a spin and the tubing seems to have eliminated maybe 75% of the wind noise. Plus it now remains quiet until 45 - 50 mph.

Before the tubing, it was or should have been unacceptable levels. Now it's about what one might expect from a new car. Very little.

Hopefully just a temporary fix until the real fix comes along.

Below are a few pics.

I know this is an old topic, but I wanted to add my experience after just having solved my roof wind noise issue. Quiet finally! I have a 2022, and the windshield sits about 4.0 mm underflush in the center, which is just under the maximum spec but was still way too noisy. I first bought the Amazon weatherstrip others recommended to bridge the gap, but the 4 mm height difference was too great on my car to make that work.

I then decided to try the Ford weatherstrip LJ8Z-5803136-A listed in TSB 21-2369. However, upon receipt I found it wouldn't fit in the gap the way the TSB dictates. My windshield was installed further upwards, so the gap at the top was less than 3 mm and the strip was too wide to fit in the gap.

Image: windshield left, roof right. Normally the adhesive end should be inserted first so it can stick to the bottom of the windshield as shown above. However I ended up flipping the weather strip over and inserting it vertically so the adhesive would stick to the rubber around the roof glass instead. There is a ridge on one side that sticks out, I pushed the strip down until that was touching the windshield and used it as a depth gauge. The strip then fills the gap at the top of the windshield and sticks up about 1/8" to become flush with the roof.

As an added bonus, this will also provide additional protection against rocks hitting the vulnerable edge of the glass roof. From a distance you can't really tell anything is different.

I was blown away by the difference. Totally fixed. Now I can't hear any wind noise coming from the roof. It's so much quieter, I'm turning the radio down. Went from volume 8 to volume 6 at 75 MPH. Another totally unexpected bonus is that speed compensated volume (SCV) actually works now. Before I was constantly having to turn the radio down at stoplights, then turn it back up at speed, now I don't have to! The slope of the SCV noise gain curves was likely set with an exemplar Mach-E with no wind noise issues. If you have wind noise, the High setting is not enough gain.

Now the primary wind noise I hear is coming from the mirrors through the side windows. Unfortunately Ford cheeped out and removed the nice laminated sound-insulating side windows on 2022 Premium models, so I may have to get my tempered windows replaced with laminated to get the cabin wind noise down to what it always should have been. Cabin noise is currently at 64 dBA @ 70 MPH, maybe I can get that down 1-2 more dB with the laminated windows.

If you aren't sure if you have roof wind noise, here's the test. Use 2" wide masking tape and tape over the seam across the top of the windshield. Then go drive 70+ MPH. If the car suddenly seems WAY quieter, you have a roof noise issue. There should be no wind noise coming from the roof. When I did this test, the tape actually ripped itself off after a couple minutes, and the difference I heard was shocking. After the tape left, it basically sounded like somebody cracked open a window! So it's a very significant noise source on problem vehicles.

Unfortunately the windshield flushness and gap varies on different Mach-E's, so what works for one person may not work on your car. You may have to try a few different solutions until you get something that works well, there are lots of ideas in this topic.

@Mach-Lee, I used this and it greatly attenuated my wind noise issue, but it sounds like the lip between the two sheets of glass wasn't as severe as yours was. But my install isn't nearly as nice as yours since there really isn't anything to guide it other than by eye while you're installing it, so while it looks ok when view straight on, if viewed down the sight line it is visibly off. I may try your approach using the OEM part instead.

Yeah I actually bought that exact item, tried it but the height difference was too much to make it work. The adhesive was pulling up.

Thanks for good advices here! Will test to see if my car is normal or if there is something that can be done about the noise from the roof, as when on the highway the noise really picks up (sounds like a window is half open sometimes). Speaking about tape; can I use the normal blue pain tape or will it leave marks in the paint when removed? Alternative tapes that can be used as a test?

Cool fix! I have a rwd 21 ER and i currently have wind noise from the mirrors when i tape them its better but still sounds like my drivers door or passengers door/window lets some noise in. When i sit behind the driver i can hear it like my window is open.

Not sure from where the sound comes from. When i drive the car around 80km/h i hear wind noise also from the windshield or Panoramic roof. When i put my finger between the panel above my head and the Panoramic roof i feel like its vibrating the middle part of the panel. In 120 km/h wind noise goes upp to 80-85db i get lots of anxiety now going in higher speeds very annoying because my Mach e wasnt like this. I have a time booked with Ford in Sweden hoping for a solution.

I also noticed a slight gap between my front door and passengers door when i look at the door list it kinda looks like my front door list goes inwards compared to the passengers door in the driver side.

Last time i told them about this they told me i can try to fix it myself because they dont have any recalls about this stuff sounds really annoying. My car used to be so silent and awesome for 500k SEK you dont expect this.

Im not gonna judge anything yet until after my appointment but i really hope they help me.?
