I also just got news from the dealership that because of price protection I can get the rate that was available when I ordered (2.49% for up to 72 months!) just have to find out the maximum ltv so I can work out the down payment. I told them I want to finance as much as possible as long as possible for as little as possible. she was surprised by the "as much as possible" but seems obvious to me.

Yep, the nice lady at KCS said ours is at Shreveport, leaving tonight for Kansas City, arriving 5am Sunday at something called IFG, International Freight Gateway. She said their system doesn't show it transferring to another railroad, so she thinks that means from there it will go by truck. Hard to imagine it will take a month from KC. Bet it sits for a while.
We came to buy an EV, and in the process learnt patience, perseverance, delayed gratification, became supply chain experts, rail tracking gurus, finance geniuses, built a community,… and the damn car hasn’t even arrived yet!
I agree, we are in 2022 and the actual situation last for now 2 years… manufacturers should (in my opinion) have a process like Amazon, Uber… like you know what is happening with your order and where it is. I can’t get why a company like Ford haven’t improved more their tracking tool. That is giving more work to their employees answering our demands and requests and it’s an headache for customers.
Despite trying to convince myself that I don’t care where the car is at, I’m still calling Kansas City Southern twice a day for an update. Of course my rail car has no status.
