Hmm, seems odd that it would be on the premium extended range RWD only?

An update for anyone who ordered a premium extended range RWD. Myself and another gentleman who ordered a similar mach e (one orange, one space white) from the 9/5 build week. We both got emails today saying our production was delayed due to supply chain issues and that they would update us every 45 days (I hope it doesn't come to that). My guess is that any premium ER RWD vehicle will be getting a similar message at some point.
Does it look like this? I got one about 3 weeks ago, didn't affect my build date or anything.

If this is the same message, I think it Ford's feeble attempt and keeping in contact every 45 days.

I have a co-worker that had a Tesla M3 ordered/delivered and he was surprised we had this much insight into our cars moving through the order/scheduling/build/shipping process as we do. So maybe the insight we seem to have is driving some of the angst on the forum
From experience with my wife's Tesla, all the various things we're looking at here were not needed. From day one, there was an estimated build date in our Tesla account. It updated on a regular basis as their production schedule shifted. A VIN shows up in your account as the production date nears.

With Ford, you can go months without a production date (just the initial x weeks when you ordered). Rather than being able to login and see if the date has shifted, with Ford, you're checking every Thursday to see if you've even been scheduled. Rather than having faith in the schedule date, you start checking modules to see if you're being built. I had to contact my Ford dealer to even get a VIN and order number so I could use the various links because Ford never emails me (not even the 45 day 'we're sorry we suck at logistics' email) and they don't put such info in your account page. They do have my correct email address since they confirmed the initial order and acceptance.

The tools we use here are crutch due to poor communication. Some people might geek out and like the details, but these things should not be required to have any useful insight in to what's happening with your order.

All I can say is that I still have no modules and my dealer said this was my build day. I have no idea if the factory runs 24/7, so it’s hard to tell if I’ll be built today. I guess that Star white paint that costs them a whopping extra $800 is hard to make ?

I'm not arguing that the Ford process is a great experience for the customer. I just refuse to get bent out of shape over it. ;). After all this is a 1st world problem. Lol

My dealer has done the comms to me.. order accepted, build week and vin. I'd bet the majority of the customers that have ordered the mach e just rely on that communication. FMC can't control it's dealers as they are independent entities that vary greatly in the CX arena (most everyone hates dealing with dealers).

Tesla follows the Amazon model (like it or not). FMC operates as a legacy manufacturer. I'll take the tradeoff due to the quality the product as in my opinion they have a huge advantage as they have built cars for >150 years. (Not bashing Tesla.. to each his own.)

Chicago here: AWD Premium - Built on the 13th, shipped on the 15th. Delivery estimate Oct 17-27.

I'm now into the "afraid the dealer will try some crap at the last second" phase of the purchase.

that's crazy. still waiting for mine to be built. It's been a few days now. really not sure why some take 1 day and others way longer. anyone know? all modules are showing and I can see the car in Fordpass but it's still showing as not built yet. any day now I hope.

Yeah, looking forward to that...
My wife just noticed that the dealer has a used 21 on the lot for about the same price as our new one. Which was somewhat comforting until I noticed that it was the standard range, not extended. Just need to get that paperwork. :D
