Reading older posts it sounds like the most frustrating phase may be starting now. Getting from the railyard in KC to our dealers. Some report sitting for weeks and weeks. Let's hope that's not our case!

my dealer gave me my rail car number - AOK 501780. Having a hard time tracking. Called all the of the posted phone numbers. They are all dates well in the past. Anyone have any idea how to track? It's heading to Ottawa Canada.

Is that your railcar to Kansas City or your railcar to Canada? They normally switch in Kansas City from the initial railcar on Kansas City Southern to another rail car on another railroad.

My MME out of Lecheria 9/15 had a railcar number AOK 501963. The only available phone railcar tracing I could find, did not recognize the AOK prefix. Chat still told me about some waypoints but info is spotty and sometimes delayed. My MME is in the KC vicinity being transferred to another rail line (or truck) for west coast US delivery... I hope. Not much to do but wait. I think railcar tracing is primarily for "clients", but some folks manage to get useful responses. (My dealer does not usually respond at all.) Lastly, Canadian Pacific and Kansas City Southern railroads merged giving them the Mexico to Canada "connection". Deliveries to central/North US and Canada may be benefitted by this merger, but I'm just guessing. Try chat one day, dealer the next. Good luck.

I got assigned a railcar out of Kansas City!
In case anyone is wondering about the Kansas City portion of the timing - here is what is happened to me:
-Arrived on the KCS train from Mexico to Kansas City on 9/25
-my car was transported at some point to ramp 6U in Muncie, KS
- as of today (9/29) I have a rail car assigned to my car. My car is going on Norfolk Southern to NJ. Its unclear if the train has left yet, but at least I know Im assigned something!
Edit - I corrected the day I got my railcar assigned. I incorrectly said 9/26. It's actually 9/29.

Confirmed with Ford my order Shipped Rail - Railcar # COER900623 (Norfolk Southern Corp )".
Will try the Norfolk Southern tracker to see if I can track the rail car, but Ford is sticking with a delivery date of 11/2/22 to North Carolina. Seems like a long time if the car has already made it to Kansas and is on its way to NC!

Sadly, it's not unusual for an individual MME unit to be "stalled' at transfer points longer than the travel time between them. Apparently, this is due to several things: truck driver shortage, waiting to assemble full loads of either truck, autoracks, trains, weather, union strikes, parts holds, whims.
(Norfolk Southern has an alert that hurricane/tropical storm Ian may influence its service particularly in SE.) Norfolk Southern Railroad

But I personally know very little about how railroads in general or Ford's chosen transportation function. I've learned a little by hanging out in this forum and trying to find answers to questions. From my "30 thousand foot" perspective, they do a pretty good job of delivering 10s of thousands of MMEs out of the Mexico assembly plant across the US and Canada. (Except for those that "go missing".
