You said that it annoys you that your car asks you if you want to turn off the motions sensors every time you shut down. You can turn that prompt off so that it stops asking you.

Regardless of what you choose when prompted, it often will re-enable the motion sensors a few minutes after you leave the car. Hence the need for some people to cover the sensors.
yes, that's the biggest concern here, wondering if the MME still re-enable the motion sensors after a few minutes

I dunno, I feel a little mixed on this.

I have one large dog at 100lbs and another at 50ish pounds. They are both trained and "should" know not to come off the folded seat, but I've never left them in the car.

I just don't know how I feel about running the car and not being in it. I realize that "technically" the "gear" selector is locked out when the phone/key is not around. I just don't know how much I really trust Ford and their ability to make things work 100% of the time.

You could always just open up the paint app and use your finger and write "FORD DOG MODE" with a poorly drawn dog picture lol

I meant if the sensors were covered. Then you’d be relying on the physical motion sensors. The ones the set the alarm off if you jack the car up or rock it.
Lol duh. Yes of course. I was kind of confused there.

@Electric Goat mention to us about we could probably make a cover for it, and we then designed a sample, and he helped us to test it out.

this is a sample, the final product will be in black plastic, thinner, the slider won't go off the edge, and we gonna try to make it looks more OEM if we gonna make one.

We have some questions about this product that we need your help.

(1) @Electric Goat had helped us to test out that the motion sensor will be disabled when the slider is closed. but I'm wondering in a situation like "dog is jumping around the car", will that also turn on the alarm?

(2) if we sell it for 11.99$, how many of you will buy it? please show us your vote ?

(3)Its been a while since that thread, is the "problem" been fixed?
Will a dog barking set off an alarm?

There's a chance that "Pet Mode" could be coming to the Mach-E soon. I'm assuming they'd disable the motion sensors for that.
In the meantime, this product seems like a nice invention to circumvent the software issue.

Pet Mode:

Instead of "Pet Mode" how about a "motion sensor that stays off and doesn't auto turn back on Mode". What next "Child Mode", or "Passenger Mode", seriously Ford it's just a simple on/off toggle switch.

I would 100% buy this. I'm certain the final product will look better than the black electrical tape I have over the sensors now.

Update: I ended up taking apart and painting the sliding portion of the motion sensor cover (the green part in the CAD design see 2nd image below) that AOSK sent to me for testing purposes. I used semi-gloss spray paint and scotch sticky tack temporary mounting putty to mount over the sensor. This works great. My dog doesn't set off the alarm anymore and the mounting putty is strong enough to keep the cover in place but still easily removable.

Looks good. Seems practical. Been tested by a trusted member. Sounds like a win for everyone that rides with canine passengers.
