Thanks; I'll remind the finance manager about that when the time comes. It's certainly worth the try!

By the way, the incentives on the GT at that time were 1.4% and $2,500 rebate, I believe. 2.49% was for the non-GT cars, like the Premium I acquired in March.
That's right-- GT's had the better rates. An additional wrinkle is that for those who ordered a MY22 in 2021 rates for both GT's and non-GT's were apparently actually locked in at 2.7% at the time of order (regardless of trim). I'm not sure exactly when the transition to the 2.49/1.4 rates for 22's happened but the anecdotes I've seen suggest certainly those who ordered in October and perhaps those who ordered in November and December as well run into this issue. I know that by early January, the 2.49/1.4 rates were available for '22s. And of course they started going up again in April/May.

That's good to know about 2021 orders. My GTPE arriving soon was ordered on 12/20/21. So I might be locked in at 2.7% rather than 1.4% for Ford Options financing. At least that's better than the 3.9% they're currently offering!

For those that ordered before the price increases and got the original X-plan price, how did your dealer put it through? My dealer says he can only give me the current x-plan pricing in his system but then he gives me the price protection discount upfront. But I saw others on here saying they got the original x-plan pricing from whenever they ordered last year. Am I missing something?

The difference in methods is only $40 and is actually better if they calculate X-plan discount on current price then apply price protection (PP). So if they give current X-Plan and then PP upfront you get a better deal by $40 ($40 = $2000 PP x 2% X-Plan discount factor).

My son is in the same boat and he is picking his up today. Will see how this dealer does it. I think the bigger deal is getting the PP upfront since he saves the 6.25% sales tax on the $2000.

I think either way they're giving me the price protection up front. But as far as X-plan goes, for me the difference is $671 when I do 98% + $275 on my original MSRP of $51,900 vs. $52,900 of the current pricing. My price protection is only $1,000.

I’m not sure how you calculated $671. If I multiply 51,900 and 52,900 each by .98 and add $275 to each I get a diff of $980. Apply the $1000 PP to the second one and that’s a net difference of $20. Make sure you’re accounting for the 325 park assist. $671 sounds suspiciously close to 1000-325.

Unfortunately for my son the dealer was adamant they could either do original invoice through WRDO and give the 325 park assist credit or they would do current invoice X-plan. I argued they could do both but they kept saying that’s all Ford’s system allowed them to do. They didn’t seem to know about applying for PP and reimbursing him later. At least they were able to use last year’s finance rates which were 0%, 0.9%, 1.9% for 36,48,60 months respectively. He rationalized that would make up for the loss of Xplan discount. So he took original invoice. He also lost the Doc Fee cap of $100 but they charge 150, so just $50 more.

By the way the Xplan price on his invoice was calculated slightly differently. The invoice shows a retail price column and an invoice column. All the amounts were the same except under invoice there was a $10 Lot Mgmt Fee. I had to add this $10 in to get the Xplan price to calculate out to the Xplan number on the invoice.

Good luck, let us know how it goes. Hope you can get both.

Thank you for the response, that gives me some extra clarity. I didn't bother to check their math on the higher price but you're right about it being $980 different. They must be using a different calculation because their x-plan price is $51,808. But that's how I got my $671 difference. Anyway, I was hoping to stack the two (original x-plan and PP), but if your son's dealer is also saying this can't be done in their system then I guess that's the way it is. Not a big deal either way.

That's interesting that the dealer was able to do the historical financing rates. My dealer is quoting me the current rate (3.99%) and my understanding was that there's only a historical rate lock on the Ford Options financing (2.7% for my state and order date). I'll ask the dealer about historical finance rates though, thanks.

They never discussed Ford Options as a possibility and I forgot to bring it up. But my son was happy to get 0.9% for 48 months through FMCC.

They are full of crap.

I got A-Plan AND $2k price protection AND $750 price increase rebate AND last year's 0.9% for 4 years.

How does the $750 price increase rebate work?
Ordered in May 2021. In September, they said that unmade 2021s would be come 2022s, and price would got up (mine went up $595). So, here's a $750 incentive coupon to say "we're sorry". It didn't say "we're sorry, and it's going to be another 8 months until you get your car...

Did you have to submit that separately, or was it just shown on the invoice? I saw an offer on the order page on the website for $750, but couldn't figure out what it was for. I ordered 10/20/21 though.

I reserved end of Jan 22 - any deals I could go for? Other than just asking for x plan for 2% off, were there any APR specials then and did I have to ask for them when I signed my reservation forms?
