I called today and Z plan is still 4%. If Z plan and D plan are both the same as A plan then id assume that the D plan is still 4% as well.

Does anyone know how dealer compensation works with X-Plan? When I placed my order with my dealer, he said they certainly took X-Plan, as its right on the invoice. Now as I’m getting closer to delivery, they have back tracked and said they will no longer accept it as they “only” earn 3% on the sale.

Here is the dealer compensation for selling at MSRP (more details at the link above). If the dealer does X-Plan then Ford compensates them for the difference of X-Plan vs. MSRP.

Maybe I shouldn’t have asked because now I’m even more grumpy at my dealer. I know they have accepted X-plan before as others mentioned using it at this dealer and when I placed my order the salesman had no problem with it. Maybe I’ll reach out to the GM and just ask for some honesty about their change of position. Their doc fee is $500, and I know x-plan has a cap on the fee. Maybe this is their reasoning for not accepting anymore.

I’m trying to complete my purchase today but the partner site at Ford is throwing errors when I try to generate a pin. I’m using MC405 with the mustang club. Is it possible to reuse a pin? Does anyone have a pin they can share?

PINs cannot be shared. They are specific to the person issued them.

Have you been a member long enough at the Mustang Club? Otherwise, you may need to call the X-Plan phone line, because often Ford does site maintenance on weekends.


Tip for others - PINs are good for a year. No reason to wait until the last minute.

I would expect that the dealer can help you get this done. Or, you'll wait until the site works.

getting ready to pay for my mach e (hopefuly in the next week) and want to make sure pricing is correct, my sticker is 57040 (inclusive of 1100 destination charge) premium AWD ER, only options are paint (red, 400) and protection package (240)...what should my total be pre tax-fees? Not sure what plan x discounts off of, total sticker or? and it is 2% correct?Thanks for any help!

If you are using X-Plan the dealer is required to show you the actual invoice, which will have the actual X-Plan price on it.

No, you have it a bit wrong. It's not 2% off any model Ford. The formula is 99.6% of invoice + $275 administrative fee, and then a max of $100 paperwork fee.

For the Mach-E, the x-plan formula is MSRP times 0.98, then add $275 to the result. Then add in any dealer added items such as window tinting and wheel locks.

So my MSRP including D&D is $57,140, so with the Formula you mentioned that would make my X-Plan price $56,272.20 a difference of $867.80. That sounds about right and is better than a sharp stick in the eye. Thank you!

So if the price the dealer pays is the same as the selling price, how is the dealer supposed to make money on the sale?
