I brought my car in on March 13 to do the 23S56 (HJBVB) recall. I was told from the dealership that they needed to order an additional part. 2 months later, I got a letter in the mail saying that all parts are available, so I go ahead and call the dealership. They told me that they're still waiting for the part needed. I asked if there was a order number or something I can use to contact corporate and said that wouldn't help.

Has anyone else experienced this? Should I just start the whole process with another dealership?

Can I get in contact with the Ford account through the forums here to see if there's something that can be done on that side?

I have heard others state this but have you asked what part they are referring to? I believe most commenters have stated that the HVBJB is now readily available but I may be mistaken. For the most part that was what was delaying recall work.

Yea, I asked about the part and they just said its for the recall, no details about what it actually is. Just that its being held up.

I have an appointment Monday morning for mine. The dealer is under new ownership and this seems to be an improvement so far.

They did say that they have to inspect the current HVBJB and provide Ford pictures to evaluate if it actually needs replaced, then the part would be ordered.

They are also providing me a loaner Mach E, which has never been done for me in the past. We'll see how it goes.............

See, that’s interesting too. I would assume if you got a letter or your FordPass app shows you have an active recall, they would just replace it.

I have been waiting for over three weeks. Two of the three parts are in but they are waiting on the last one. Ford corporate called me to make sure I was aware of the recall and they called the dealer to see what the status was. The dealer then called me back saying that they are still waiting on one part.

What does the Ford site say for your car?

There was a short period of time in January where my car said Recall incomplete, remedy available.

I stopped by the dealer to start the part order process.

Then a day or so later it changed to:

The dealer has not been able to order the part.

I received a letter after a few months saying parts were available in UK. Contacted my local dealership who booked the car in within a week & had a replacement MachE available as it takes up to 2 days to strip & recharge batteries. I also need another warranty repair so took it in yesterday & have brand new MachE until next Wednesday

That is absolutely incorrect. Others have posted their dealerships saying the same thing, and being found to be wrong.

The recall INCLUDES a loaner.

My hvbjb failed on March 12th and Ford corporate categorically refused to cover a rental. There were no loaners available any dealership near me. Also, the car still hasn’t been fixed because the dealership ordered parts and ford has taken their sweet time providing them. Since then several parts have failed to install and the car remains in the shop.

So the recall clearly states that a loaner is provided. They will give you a loaner, OR they provide an inadequate sum of money to cover part of a rental.

The parts should be ordered in COPIS, which gets priority. However, there is a tight supply and taking 2 months isn't unusual as they have lots to replace.

After 30 days I'd be requesting a buyback.

I requested a buyback and that was immediately rejected because my car is one month and a couple thousand miles outside the lemon law eligibility where I live.

You may have already done this but have you checked to ensure your dealer ordered the parts thru COPIS? Supposedly parts were reserved somewhat for failures versus recall replacement which is why it would be essential that your dealer was clear in how they ordered the part. I know it should not be your responsibility but I would want my car back. maybe no way to help out though. I would also contact the BEV team. Unfortunately rental for two days onlycame with the recall while Warranty failure seemed to be a hit or miss situation as to how much Ford paid and in some cases if they paid at all for a rental.

So it seems like a few people are waiting for a part. Maybe it’s the same part, I’m not sure.

I guess it’s still a waiting game.
